squaredeals relay kit

The stock wiring turns off the headlight when starter engages. If your battery won't start the bike with the small drain before you hit the starter you need to spend the money on a new battery, not a relay.

Thanks Ygranson, but i don't have problems with battery drains, but my Roadster don't turn off the lights when the starter engages. I know there is a recall for the previous Roadster like mine, but i prefer do it myself. I would like to know if someone has this kit to give me a feedback.

You might want to confirm that the headlights do turn off when the starter engages. The little parking lights might not go out but the main headlights do go off temporarily when the starter is engaged.

The kit referenced is what we call "snake oil" in the US. It is not as it seems and, in my humble opinion, is falsely advertised.

In the headlight/starter circuit there is a relay. The relay is either in the headlight position or it is in the starter position. It is not possible to power both at the same time. The normal position is to the headlights. The switched/activated position is the starter.

It absolutely does - or at least should
Every Triumph in the last 20 years has had this feature.
If you have an early Roadster then yes, there is a recall which adds a secondary relay to divert headlight current out of the Key-Switch - but that has no impact on the lights switching off when starting which yours still does anyway.
It's pretty much impossible to have them remain on if the starter relay is operating - it cannot simultaneously supply current to BOTH the headlights AND the Starter Solenoid.

If you want to mod it yourself (per the recall) - which you absolutely SHOULD because it much more importantly will protect your key-switch (which has horrendous failure rate in the Std's which utilized the same scheme as your early Roadster) then information here:

Triumph Quit Ignoring Your Ignition Problems (overview of differences)

and here is instruction on how to incorporate the Factory Recall Mod yourself

Triumph Quit Ignoring Your Ignition Problems (procedure for mod)

Note again that with or without the mod, the headlights absolutely go off while starter is operating

I knew your honour had the info located.
I like having an on/off switch in the circuit as well - if only for maintenance.

On/off switch is simple to incorporate along with that mod - just connect switch in series in the ground line to that new relay - that will control them to remain off, regardless of whether in high or low beam
