springer front end?

Many many years ago i rode beside this clown that built himself a rigid framed 1,000cc Sportster (yeh i know best of everything , crap engine and no rear suspension).. anyway it had a long springer front end (of course) we hit highway speed 60mph and this f#ckin thing started pig-rooting around like you wouldn't believe. When we pulled up i asked him if he was ok and what went wrong. He calmly stated "that's just pogoing , they all do it" .. i couldn't f3ckin believe he just accepted it .. guess it was more a looks thing .. wanker !!!
