Hi ALL :D

My R3T got the wobbles/shudders last week :( real bad around 30/50 kph but sorta came right around 120kph, but still a bad buzz comming through, shes only got about 2000km on the clock. Dealer came and took away , reporting back that the front tyre has a slight bulge  !!! bit of a worry re potential for a mishap, so a heads up to anybody still running on origonal bridgestones, dealership replaceing both front and rear with new metzlers under warrantry :D , me hopes these are better? any feedback would be great. anyone else still having this problem ???

I bought mine in 8/2008..replaced bridgestones with metzler in 2/2009..recall came out in march of 09..bridgestone paid my replacement costs in 4/2009.No R3T should have been sold after that date with Bridgestones..yours skipped the gap and thankful that you were not injured and tires have been replaced.I have over 8000 miles on this new set and should get at least 2-3000 more.Really happy with Metzlers!!!

You guys with tourin bikes must be the only ones who like Metz. Must be 'cause they were free :D, they scare me. Got caught in the rain yesterday on the way home from work, felt like I was driving on ice. Not a good feeling to be slippin around on an 800lb bike in traffic. :(

I also was disappointed (trying to be polite) with the Metz. The Avon recommended Cobras are just so much better ride. :)

Wobble

My 2008 R3 Classic developed similar symptoms but it turned out to be a bent (very, very slightly) rear axle. Couldn't tell by looking at it, but when Tony's guys at Eurosport Cycle in Fort Worth pulled it out and rolled it across a piece of glass it was quite obvious.

I'll post a video of it when I have a chance.

The monster has always been rock solid even at high speeds....till recently. Was finishing up spanking another HD the other day when the bike started a wobble (while still accelerating) at around 120. I was in a gradual curve and thought that may have contributed. De-celled immediately (of course) and forgot about it. Yesterday similar circumstance but in a straight line.... very unnerving to say the least. The only change I have made to the bike's configuration was replacing the upper (full) wind screen with a shorty. I'm thinking maybe the short windscreen with the existing lower deflectors may be causing turbulance. Providing I survive, I will report back after experimenting.

Mine has developed a wobble when I take my hands off the bars.
After careful inspection of the front tire which is a metz,
I recon I need a new front tire.
LeAnn (DustyRose) can take her hands off at speed and her bike is rock steady.
Mine is ok as long as I have at least 1 hand on the bars.
but pull em both off and she goes into a dance.
Can't put up with that crap.
Any suggestions on a different tire?

Skip, not really, but as I told all the Gold Wing riders...keep both hands on the handlebars.

Now if it wobbles when both hands are on the bars...now you have a problem.

I'm going to try the Avon on the front when I replace the rear with the F1 goodyear. The metz on the front is wearing funny and just started the hands off wobble at medium speeds. the front metz is wearing and cupping on the sides... must be the weight in the corners causing the odd wear pattern, but you would think the tire would be designed for that. I hate the fact that the metz has practically no water channels in the first place, then with a just little wear it turns into a drag slick. I have NO faith in them at all.
