Seat options for short riders?

You could bring your stock seat to a custom shop and have them remove some material from it to make a more comfortable, lower seating position. They can do practically anything to get it the way you want it. Then add a quality leather covering. That's what I'm doing to mine come March.

short people got, no reason... short people got, no reason... dum dum dee dum dum dum dum dee dum...

other useful ideas: let some air out of the tires? try jimmy choo for riding shoes?

being 6'5'' maybe i'm not the right person to be trying to figure this out...

Do you have pictures of the seat? Would you say its a good upgrade over stock? Lower then the stock seat at all?
Basically it WAS stock on the Classic. I've had one on since day one though mine is NOT a classic - but it looked way better for passengers and I wanted that backrest for me. I liked it so much that when a new cheap one came up on e-Bay I bought a spare.

The chamois leathers are just to keep sun off black vinyl in summer.

You could however fit a leather cover http://stores.ebay.es/TOP-GAITERS-BOOTS/_i.html?_nkw=triumph+rocket&submit=Buscar&_sid=668506186

I don't think anybody who's gone to the Dual Tour Classic seat has been unhappy - unless they've had the cash to go custom. Later bought some gel pads from Dan Medica in the UK - and custom fitted them in - dishing to take pressure off the tail bone. You need a staple gun, sharp knife and fingers to do the work. EASY!

Single layer of 18mm gel on the rear - double layer for me. A Large fits the rear bit of the seat spot on . front I have a large and extra large on top of that.

I would still love a Russell.

I'm your height and flat foot easily (although if anything my legs are longish). I use the Triumph dual touring seat and find it absolutely fine. Others say they're uncomfortable but I reckon it's probably the best seat I've had on any bike. I do only weigh about 180lbs though.

Before you spend big bucks you should give one a try. For starters it is lower than the Roadster seat plus the pillion part is a lot wider and more comfortable. I actually have 2 of them - with and without riders backrest. One I bought new and the other from a member on here and together cost me about half the price of a Corbin.

Plenty of pics in my gallery, btw.

Hey Guys. I wouldn't consider myself short, im 182cm or about 5'11"... But yesterday a friend of mine who is also my height sat on my 12 roadster as was able to put his feet flat on the ground. Apparently I have short legs!!

I am just a little concerned that I can't get both feet flat on the ground for when sitting in traffic and stuff, so I was wondering what options are available other then lowering the bike which I dont want to do.. are there alternative seats that can lower me down a little bit? I will find some boots with a much thicker sole to help but I need a little more.

Also, I intend to go riding with my wife fairly often and would like to find a seat with a little more cushion or something wider/bigger for the back compared to the stock seat, my wife has quite the booty, she's no stick! Just want to make sure she's comfortable.

Any experience or reviews you can assist me with? Thanks guys!

5' 11" 182cm and you can't flatfoot ... better get a new tape measure. Sounds like having your wife on the back should certainly assist you to flatfoot. Me and my girl , she's no stick either love our Classic seat. Think the problem people have with the comfort of them is if they are way overweight or just don't ride enough ( not hardarses ..hahahaha)

No joke!! The height is correct, but I've never realized how short my legs are.. my pelvis or waist is at least 1.5 - 2 inches lower then my friend of the same height! I will be complaining to mom about manufacturing defects.. LOL.. I do put on a lot of mileage on my bikes considering how much riding time I have during our short summers. I am looking forward to riding with the new foot position compared to the way it was on my previous bike, sitting with my legs forward all the way towards the rad was pretty hard on my tail bone.

I was looking at that Triumph Dual Touring Seat and it looks like it would be pretty nice for what we are looking for, I would like a little more width to fit my girls bum nicely. Problem is I don't think Triumph dealership here keeps any in stock, I will have to check if there is a satisfaction guarantee to make sure it is what I'm looking for... but glad to hear you like it. Thanks!

for your pillion problem you may want to consider the butty buddy it "widen"" the support and takes two seconds to put on and off for the front I am just like you 5.11 but bit short on the legs so I bought the two part gel seat on ebay ($200)and had it carved out 1 1/5 inch worked like a charm plant my feet flat even with the max tire.. and comfortable enough

Can you show what kind of seats you were searching for exactly on eBay ? Gotta make a decision about that or buying a triumph branded seat. Thanks

IMG_0959.JPG my seat is the gel seat two pieces from triumph although the picture does not show the deep curve because the inner glue does not hold the seat cover but I get an inch and a half lower once I seat on it I should mention that the pillion seat is a ridiculously sized seat so as I have K Drive saddlebags (you can see the brackets) I made a higher and much wider foam seat that seat on the original with the lower parts of the sides long enough to be wedged between the Kdrive saddle bags and the rear fenders so nothing moves now my wife can look over my helmet and her ahem !! posterior is firmly held . total cost of both front and back ($ 340) if you wish to see the whole thing let me know I will mount it and take pics..
