..leatherlykes here..the new ones have a reinforcing strap on the inside because they had some issues a while back with cracks around the mounting points..lockable..on and off in seconds..kinda clunky looking, but very functional..

These are the K-drive bags. I like them . . nothing fancy and on and of in seconds. Not really a great picture but . . . different than the others.

quick release fasteners on OEM bags

A set of RocketIII OEM bags are stout and very handy with the quick release fasteners. As a daily user of my bag capacities, whether that be toting lunch or picking up a few loaves of bread and tonights supper, I've found them to be the shiznitz. A full fork width tool bag and a rainsuit reside in the bags as well. The downside of the very tough leather bags is retaining their like new shape for more than 12 months, without the Flipmeisters bag stiffeners.

IMO, if you're going to have bags attached 24/7 then leather is the best choice. Leather will stand up to the elements far longer with minimal attention and still retain the best appearance. Cracks, crevices and fabric weave are a detriment.

Heretic -
You say the OEM bags have quick release fasteners ... as in quickly removable or as in easy to open?

What do the mounts look like without the bags?

What are the dimensions of the OEMs (H x W x L) ?

Hope you're doing OK ... met in last year's RAA

no legroom issue

I rode my 4'10" daughter on the back (stock pegs) and she said she was fine. The bags are actually able to slide forward or back an inch or two on the mounts.

I resisted adding saddlebags until I found some with more of a rocket-like look. The red reflectors cones are LED brake lights an the orange are LED turn signals. They are installed with Easy-Brackets so if I wanted to take them off it's pretty easy. The top bag is a Givi Speedpack.

Mutazu with Eazy or Ghost Brackets

Wondering if anyone has an opinion on Eazy vs Ghost Brackets. I want to add bags to my Classic but want to keep it looking sleeker, so only added summer shield and touring seat. Don't want to pay for the Beetle Bags, so thinking of going with Mutazu LN bags.

Without question, IMO those are the finest looking bags/setup I've seen, anywhere.

I'd like to have a lead on where to get them.

The OEM bags ARE NOT quick release. No way no how, when using stock mounting hardware. Otherwise they wouldn't be 24/7/365 bags. As for leather having the best life over other soft bags...leather bags do require up keep. But over the years they still have the nostalgic appearance of leather bags and are easily cleaned up.
