Ramair filter servicing

I took off my ramair recently and my throttle bodies had oil and gunk all over them, that's a great indicator of when to clean it!

I would say it is a great indicator of too much oil. Dirt and gunk will not go through properly oiled foam filters of good quality.

I see this thread has been around for a while. 2 questions.

1) What has time told us about cleaning and re-oiling with and without using RamAir oil ?

2) How has the filter held up being washed and re-oiled several times ?

I use dish soap. Takes a bit washing all the soap out. Then i let it sit for a day and Lightly lube it with some stuff from work. The stuff they sell for the ramair seems to be tough to use and never did figure out the blue lube. The stuff is like pancake syrup. My second filter is holding up rather well after i changed the cleaning method.

I uses dish soap and warm water while being very gentle as the foam seems flimsy and easy to tear to me.
I also use this after thoroughly dry:
