Race track set up - great suspension discussion by the masters

Batwing had to come apart, got a suggestion to put the wire through a grommet, basically do it right, so I did and inspected real good, looks good, brackets good strong big, torque painted brackets and she’s ready to go back on and plug into bike, and install of the Daytona velona will be complete, I really appreciate your help with this. You are the man

Cool here is a go fast suggestion. Hang the wind sail on the garage wall untill such time you decide you don't want to go fast. Then put it back on. Buy the parts you need fir it now so when you sell it you can give hime the parts. Just a go fast suggestion. Fly screen = warp speed stability !!!!!

Warp I’m gonna have to see if speedy will chime in on how these baggers can go 140, 150, 160 and it be so stable, aerodynamicist need to splain how it pushes tire into the ground, lowering height and creating speed, i wish I could explain it but I’ve just learned all this yesterday and today, Rivas is going down lol

This thread is way more interesting and useful than the vanilla WTB and FS posts.

@Kevin frazier I propose to move this to custom mods, and label it "Suspension" something. If you agree, I would invite you to reopen a "Want to Buy" classified -- perhaps more specific for actually purchasing something, if that be your intent.

What say you ?

Steel is right if its frame mounted it would be much better. Fork mounted at high speeds is asking for a death wobble. Simple to understand. Take your out and run her with the touring fly screen and then the big windshield. Then ask yourself which one felt like you had a sheet of plywood in front. I suggest this knowing you have the fairing off right now. So the two wind screens would be easier. Once you done ask which one felt more like the fairing. But hey I'm not saying pitch the fairing just want you to realise you can add 15 hp to the engine and because of the wind resistance it can feel like you didn't add any power. You'll have to find your happy medium to match your riding. Fast is great, fast in the curves is exhilarating, wrecked and broken is better then dead but not by much !!!!! Says the guy who broke his back on a Rocket !!!!!!!!

Besides if your like me, once you get better at the curves you'll probably move away from the 175 + mph stuff.

I’m with you’ll on the fairing connecting to the frame, if I actually get to go to do a mile I won’t run batwing, at 1/8 for me it’s just fun and I’m not hitting no speeds near dangerous for a batwing, but I’m already on ordering a small screen (the boulevard) because I know you’ll are right, thanks for sharing your experience that I definitely adhere too and am grateful for

It seems that the engine of the rocket strapped into the frame helps a lot with stability on this thang. When I ride with the batwing on for now own I’ll hear steel say he’s gonna hurt himself with that thang on and I’ll hear you say yeah the sail should have been on the wall thereby effectively regulating my throttle hand to riding in line with Harley’s thanks guys

You say 15hp huh,
