RAA: Wet Leather edition (PNW)

Was on my Motocamper site asking about ther favorite ways to get to that area and was showed several pictures looks beautiful, they were recommending August said September starts getting cool just wondered you all are the ones that actually live out their.
All I can remember is getting snowed on coming across Big Horn Mountain in August and 90° in the Valley crazy

Should we start thinking of a date? Sometimes, you need to make hotel reservations in Leavenworth quite a ways out. The Bavarian Lodge is one of the newer hotels there, right across from the middle of town. It is a little pricy, but a nice hotel with plenty of parking. Several others, mainly along hiway 2 that are nice also. When you move into the smaller ones, especially downtown, they get pricy and have little, if any, parking.

The first weekend in Sept looks good for me, I don't know how others feel about when to go, but I can work in sometime in Aug, except towards the end. I have to go tuna fishing ;).

So far this is still a go for me, mostly depending on the price of gas. It like to come across the north and head home south so Early Sept or late aug would help me out. What about a motel out of town.

Bumping back up.

One of the last two weekends in August? The weather should be nice. No big events going on those weekends, just Art in the Park, I don't know how crowded that gets.

The weather around here (and there) is pretty nice in Aug. Nothing like the sweltering, humid heat of the former dust bowl. I know, I grew up in Lawton.

Average high runs into the mid to upper 80's and the lows run around 50. Historically, Aug is one of the driest months in the area, usually less than 1/2 an inch for the month. Leavenworth is basically on the dry side of the mountains, about 2-3 hours east of Seattle.

1003 miles for me. Depending on the date and my work schedule, I'd really like to do it.
Any of you guys traveling on I-90 thru Wyoming or Montana, we could meet up and ride together.

I went looking and the OP has been MIA since the time he posted this. I work and school, both full time or else I would take up the challenge of putting it together. Is there anyone else who would be willing. If not, I can do some minor arrangements. Essentially call some hotels, etc. as far as putting rides together, we could wake up, eat breakfast, look at a map, and take off.
