R3 Racing Cam Chain

非常に卒業証書..............................and that is the truth

Thanks for the responce hombre. I asked a question in post #10 and was waiting for a responce before i ordered. I have seen some of your inovation/custom stuff and would understand your reluctance to share that. I figured a timing chain/ tensioner mod was fair ground for this forum. Paul

You snooze, you lose Paul. Last call was 2 weeks ago!

Frankly I have much more going on in my life than the R3 or this forum. I fully paid in advance for the 5 cam chains, so I'll be keeping them for my racing use. That way you won't feel left out. Furthermore, I feel no great need to share anything I fabricate or source for my race use with any forum.

Vaya con Dios

Not to worry Paul, Your just getting your first experience with homobre.

Now as for the timing chain and the problems that may arrive from using heavy duty springs and a high speed valve trane.

First no one to my recollection has ever broke a timing chain, and Triumph changed manufactures and length. The newer ones are made in Germany now and are a lot stronger. They do not stretch as much as the older styles.

Second unless you change to heavy springs and such, your chain guide will not get ate up.

below is a picture of guide deformation thru a scope whilst engine is still together (APE manual tensioner which I do not use)

below is a damaged guide that also broke from chain slopp after the back of the guide wasted,

the excess chain slopp can hit the guide so hard it breaks in the center like below

Third, if you ever choose to purchase a High Horse Power package from Carpenter Racing. You will not have to worry about this problem as the parts and custom modifications to eliminate this was worked out a year ago for Carpenter Racing by Warp Aerospace Division.

Every Carpenter kit is supplied with the proper modifications for longevity of the package and the engine.

I would not worry about it until you cross into the High Horse Power Zone!!!!!

I would like to say that your response is unusually cold and arrogant. But there is nothing unusual about it.

Hello.. Thanks for the Info.. My question was actually in thought of the Carpenter Racing Upgrade.. And I wasn't offended by hombre.. I just stated my take on it. I would much rather he be himself than pretend to be anything else. Much better to be who you are up front than not. Until the next time.. Paul:D:eek:
