When i came back from the 3 sisters i noticed a stream stain of oil coming out from behind the oil tank, i thought i overfilled the tank , io washed the bike and put it up, last week i took the bike out of the garage and the stain was there again, i know it was not the same stain because i washed off very good, any ideas? do i need to take the tank off? how do i do it? what do i look for??
My 2007 Classic did that while in Nashville in '07, rode it back to FL and kept an eye on the tank but did not even have to add any oil. Took it to my dealership and they had to order new O-rings for underneath the tank and it was all done under warranty. Your situation may not be covered like mine was as your Rocket is probably out of warranty...but I definitely would have it looked at.

I wouldn't try it...those O-rings have to be able to seal wherever they go into that tank. If you have the service manual...it may not be that bad but I would pay real close attention to how you do it...at least I wouldn't think that the O-rings are that expensive.

Now that you mention it yes i did, somewhere in a Texas city my fan quit working and the light cxame on for about 2 minutes, it was raining and we just found a route where we didn't have to stop and rode the rest of the way( 500when i ) miles without fan but we were doing 70mph on the raqin so the bike never overeheated again, when i got home i replaced the fan relay and it worked so i thought it was fixed
