Nothing Turns On

Howdy all?

I have a 2005 R3 with a tad over 9300 miles. I bought it a few months ago. It was running fine until I went for a long vacation of several weeks. After I was back i neglected it for a few more weeks. So the bike sat there doing nothing for over 3 months. When I went to turn it on, I found the battery completely dead. I took the battery off of a Vulcan 800 and plugged it without paying attention to the polarities. Needless to say that the polarities were inverted. Once I realized my error, I plugged the battery once more with the correct polarities, but this time NOTHING is on. NOTHING.
I thought it was the starter relay, so I went to my local parts store and bought an identical relay. Nothing.
I am completely puzzled. I have measured the voltage and it is 12.7 Volts. So the battery has enough juice to turn at least some lights on. However nothing is turning on.
Can somebody please help me out and tell me what's going on? I hate to take it to the dealer for some minor electrical issue and be charged $2000. It just doesn't sound right to me.

Disconnect both battery leads and then reconnect to a good or recharged battery to reset the ECU, mouka. If that doesn't do it, please wait for the more knowledgable here to come along to help troubleshoot the problem.

Disconnecting the battery will not reset the ECU Phil
But besides, the ECU has no control over the basic power distribution

Needless to say that the polarities were inverted.

You almost certainly blew the Main Fuse - Fuse # 11.
Fuse 11 is one of the Big ATO Fuses at the end of the box (the other is a spare)

Did you check the main fuses and the rest of them while your at it. Sinc you sent the juiceto ground you might have blown some. @DEcosse its time for you to step inand teach me some more ecletrical stuff. I know you covered this not to long ago but hey I am old, forgetful, and a polock. I have to read it a few times as I learn more the second time around.

Years ago, I was running hard against a buddy of mine on the Interstate and as I performed a rather violent quick-shift, one of my battery leads rattled lose on its post and shorted out the bike. Nothing lit up, no gauges swept and I couldn't get my engine turned over no how/no way. A friend recommended that I disconnect and then reconnect the leads on both battery posts and "Voila!", she fired right up.

Since you are our resident electronics maven, DEcosse, what exactly ways reset when I did that?

I just put a brand spanking new battery that reads 12.91 volts. Nothing still. I have lifted the tank to see underneath but I did not spot anything out of order.
The funny thing in all of this is that no one has touched the bike all these months. The battery was completely dead when I took it out. For me it was a simple swapping of the batteries, but it seems to be more than that.
Can someone please chime in and tell me what to do?
There seems to be a 12volts relay that is identical to what one can find in lawn mowers. It seems out of place an I don't think that any one of you has this relay. It is connected to a couple of wires and to the trickle charger. I have seen an identical relay on my Ural.

I have just found the fuse # 11 at 30 amps blown. I am almost certain that's the issue. I will report back in 20 minutes after I have this fuse replaced.
