NGK Plugs - Iridium Or Standard?

I dunno about our Rockets, but when I put a set in my hardley, you could tell a difference as soon as it fired up. Smoother, runs better, (at least as good as a hardley can run)! And they are supposed to last much longer.

Definitely last longer, after 20,000 km still looked as good as new.
can't say I noticed any major improvement otherwise

fast four's mag done a spark plug test a few years back when changed to new ngk plugs from the old one's to start the test the new plugs gave 0.8 k/w less power may be plugs work better if run in or rounded slightly ?o_O by the way champion plugs won power test

I got iridiums ,I think they have done 30000klms.2 of them in number one died a few weeks back .I didnt see the directions and proceeded to run a a wire gap adjuster through 2 of them when I was installing them and thats the 2 that died.
The other 4 and the 2 new ones seem to be doing ok.
If the 4 remaining plugs keep going , Ill consider using them again as they are bastards to get in/out compared to other contraptions I own/owned.

I used to have a supercharged Buick Riviera that came with iridium plugs. When I changed them at 100,000 miles I bought some non-iridium plugs that were on sale and were supposed to be a direct replacement. The car ran terrible with those. The auto parts store took them back. He said some cars need the iridium's. As for lasting longer, last summer I changed out the plugs in my Dodge Magnum Hemi at 150,000 miles. It was still running fine, but I was starting to worry that I wouldn't get them out. To my surprise they are just plain ole' plugs. Bought the exact plugs for 79 cents each, which is nice as it takes 16 of them !

How do know it wasn't just the fact that the plugs needed replacement?
After 50 years of motorcycles and having tried every configuration and material, I've never noticed any difference whatsoever other than the head games we play with ourselves...like how much better your bike runs when clean!
When the electric potential across the electrodes becomes sufficient, the electrons jump the gap with the same result regardless of the material which only affects longevity. The only factor that has an effect is the gap. The greater the gap, the higher the voltage requirement and the more fuel/air mixture ignited when the plug fires.
