"NEW" RAMAIR - HOW'S IT WORKING OUT???

@1olbull I had to laugh that you didn't like getting from the UK where it is sold by the UK manufacturer RAMAIR.

I only saw it 26 June on eBay by Googling with free International shipping of US$18.95 and being a tight-arse made an offer of $15. Counteroffer for US$18 accepted RAMAIR Performance Foam Filter Recharger Regen Kit With Oil & Cleaner

Arrivedsafe and sound two days ago 09 July.

Now just asking US$17.94 with free International post as the Pound has dropped. You should get a counter offer for US$17 now :D:cool:

My Ram Air was ordered and delivered from England.
Twas the cleaning kit I had issue with and eventually found and purchased in America.

So did your UK order arrive yet or did you manage to cancel?

Regarding the clearer order, they did acknowledged my cancellation a few days later.
All is good with my British commerce!

I thought they only needed to be cleaned and re-oiled after 10,000 - 15,000 miles depending on conditions, have you been going through weekly dust storms at 3000?

Nope. I had about 3000 miles on from a trip last April.
I usually clean my filters (motor) at about that mileage.
Must say they looked very good, so I gave them a blow and called it good.
Was very pleased they remained secure and solid in their mount.

i bought one a few months back but never got around to fitting it until last week....I am not too happy about the small area it has to fit to on the throttle bodies so I am going to machine some ally adapters to fit on the throttle body with a longer tube for the filter to fit to

Likely shall make the bearclaw not fit.
Mine (new version) has remained secure just fine.
Why not try it out before you redesign it and affect the draw? :D

I agree there is not much room under the claw. I wanted to try and reduce some noise and used some 3mm (1/8") adhesive backed foam/foil heat shield inside the claw. I'm not convinced it quietened it down much, but am also a little concerned it restricts airflow over the whole (especially top) RAMAIR filter surface as the gap between the claw and filter is even more reduced.

Does anyone know the actual clearance under the claw and should I remove the heat shield? It still revs out fine to 6000+ without fault and I have a PC5 and AT so hope that is assisting.

@ozrider Does the Ozclaw have a lot more clearance if a RAMAIR is fitted and will foam/foil heat shield reduce induction noise?

Does anyone run their RAMAIR without a claw at all?

I have gone with an Ozclaw and relocated a new puke jug.
Thinking it may add a little air flow - looks cool anyway - wish the Ozclaw was chrome like my bearclaw??? :p
