Does the one you have work when the bike slows thru engine braking, not just the brake light when braking?

I am seeing that it works when using the brake pedal, but I did not see where it comes on when the bike slows without using the brake pedal? like engine braking, or any other deceleration, could be me I am old.

No you are correct. It does have a algorithms that monitor the force and speed applied to the brake handle to flash differently. Nothing gravitational like the one you found.
