You have some resistance on that size of the fuse, I would recommend that you clean the fuse holder, before it gets more serious

Is it the hot side of the fuse that is melting?
By hot i mean always 12volt or battery power side of the fuse.

Check that the contacts which hold the fuse are clean and tight on the fuse. It may be dirty, or a little loose, which would create resistance and thus heat. if it is on the powe side of the fuse then it wouldn't blow the fuse, but could melt it. If it is dirty, clean it. If it is a little loose, put a layer of solder on one side of the fuse leg to make it a little wider. I don't know if that will solve the problem, but it won't hurt to try.

@Mittzy , just checked with meter that is the live side but it has never blown the fuse.
@idk that could be a plan ,if the fuse holder is not the best I may as well bypass the oem with a remote quality one.
Can you take the contacts out to clean them properly?

i remember a thread of some one doing an external fuse. do you have the eastern beaver kit or something similar to protect the ign switch?

Not really, but a bit of WD40, and possibly a nail file should do the job.

@Jeffrey Cochran that is side of fuse the size is as recommended but it has never blown, can the fuse box be taken apart or better to get a single holder and by pass oem altogether.

Sorry did not mean the fuse was the wrong size , just that for that size of fuse there must be some resistance for it to melt like that. I believe that DEcosse here on this forum had some diagrams for bypassing the OEM fuse holder. If I get the chance to look at the schematics I might be able to see what else can be done.
