Intake Plenum / Exaust
INTAKE
I have looked at all the different intake configurations on this site and thought I was ready to order the triples when I read a thread that it is actually more restrictive than stock. The idea being discussed was the stock air filter only needs to supply air to 1 cylinder at a time on it's intake stroke, essentially giving each cylender the whole surface area of the filter rather than the smaller filter on top of each throttle body. A simple solution seems to just take some round aluminum stock, around 3" diameter to mount on the throttle bodies and then mount the air filters on the makeshift plenum. Now each cylender would pull through all 3 filters and still have that cool exposed K&N look.
EXHAUST
I'm sure I'll catch some **** for this but here it goes. I have always loved the sound of glass packs. Maybe because they were all I could afford for my old trucks growing up but they make my favorite note. I just like the deep throaty sound without the metallic echo that most modern performance systems seem to have. What I dont want is my neibors calling the police when I leave for work at 5 in the morning. I am considering ordering a
stainless steel glasspack and just attaching to factory exhaust manifold.
Am I about to ruin my bike by thinking outside the norm? What's your thoughts?
