My new RamAir filter is scheduled to arrive Monday. Going to install right away and download one of the tunes in resources. I have the 3 pipe TORs, Triumph cat eliminator and a Dobeck Performance AFR Plus.

If I can get the time off from work going to join RAA West to do some dyno tunng at Nel's on Thursday.

Should I cut my BearClaw to allow for cooler/better airflow ?

Does anybody have a chrome BearClaw to sell cheap ?

Maybe try it with the bearclaw removed. I kinda think it looks cool seeing the Ramair or triple K&N's exposed. I doubt you'd see much either way in terms of performance.

If you want to cut the claw I would do it for bigger filters. Ram air is only good as the little tripple filters. Run better filters and it would be worth it even the K&N 4010 filters.

The only thing I would say - based on experience - The OZ-CLAW helps. it makes less noise oddly - and most certainly floods more ambient air in. Seems to run better.

Is it NECESSARY? - Ah now that is hard to say without a Dyno. But open filters are drawing up warmed air from the area surrounding the oil tank and radiator flow.

What did make a difference though (and would with anything under or semi-under the claw) is some form of heat wall between the undertank area and filter.

I have just fitted a spare claw I have - to decide whether to ventilate it a bit or not. Will go for scoops I think - If I do.

I fitted an ozclaw today but prior to that having fitted the filters I just bought longer bolts and used some washers 3 each side to give more clearance...you couldn’t tell from looking ...

Was wondering the same thing last week. Yesterday it was 85 degF. With 3 K&N's under the bearclaw (used spacers to move the claw out a bit, but still compressing the filters a little) ran a 20 mile test. On the highway the IAT slowly rose to 97 degF. After that 10 miles of 40 - 50 mph with traffic and stop rose to 110 degF.
