I inherited a Rocket III with training wheels

Decided to take the tank off to change the filter, in a way I'm glad I did, but its full of rust and going to be fun to try and get clean, gonna try and get a soft wire brush inside it and scrape off as much as I can rinse it out and call it good!

after u are finished cleaning u might put a heavy duty magnet on the bottom and it may be possible to look at it once and a while.
even attaching it to the outside bottom might keep the rust out of the fuel filter.

Their are coating available that coat the inside the the tank! Good luck!
Had an old 64 T100 I did that to, it wasn't fun, and this tank is huge, I don't think I want to attempt it

Great idea!

Bit more than I want to spend but I love it, will it fit on an 05....

Well....
I cleaned out the tank as best I could, installed a couple magnets in the rear corners, put in a OEM fuel filter (about hit the floor at the price but I wanted it now!!) should have done more research first... oh well its done!

Seems to run pretty good, spins the back tire no problem with the training wheels on... hehe

Received the ECU cable today, it has 1 trouble code, but I already new the speedometer wasn't working.
Here are a few pics, I am totally clueless at what most of this stuff means, any thoughts?

EDIT:
AFTER I MADE THIS POST I WENT FOR A SPIN, I GUESS THE TANK WAS MORE RUSTED THAN I THOUGHT, GAS STARTED SQUIRTING OUT WHERE THE TANK MEETS THE SEAT AND SOAKED MY PANTS...

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome and kind greetings!!

There is 4 connectors not plugged into anything?

I did this, you can see the gauges illuminate when i turn it on but the gauges don't sweep?

Checking into this, guess I need a cable

The kickstand is still on it, I pushed it up and down a few times but nothing?

None of the warning lights come on ie: Neutral, engine, oil, etc...
Here is a pic of the disconnected plugs under the tank

I see the rev limit is 6300, that's a factory setting. The speed limit is 218kph...that's ok. And are you sure its leaking fuel by your nuts??...could be you just creamed yourself////:rolleyes:

Thats not good - check connections and seal under the tank.
This is a cheaper fuel filter option Ryco Z200 EFI Fuel Filter
