Help - Another Roadster ECU Issue

YES SCOTT you and I discussed the problem with O2 sensors

In not worried about the O2 sensor going bad. It's a normal deal almost every vehicle uses now. If I have to replace it eventually, then I'm good with that.

I think it was James Epley that recommends left handed drill bits for removing troublesome screws, etc.

What I used was like a big left drill bit. It's called a pipe nipple extractor. It's about the size of a socket. I got a set of 5 for about $7 at Harbor Freight. They work better in this case since I needed a lot of torque. If a drill was able to put all that torque down, it would also rip my hand off. These things allow you to put a deep socket on it to get all the leverage you need. Here is the link to what I used. http://www.harborfreight.com/5-piece-pipe-nipple-extractor-set-93822.html

Not for the Dobeck Performance AFR Plus. Be sure to leave O2 Sensor ON.

I am curious about this statement red. If you pull the narrow band sensor that is pluged into the ecu which the ecu uses. Replace it with the wide band sensor the dobeck unit uses. Won't it throw a alarm/engine code because the ecu does not read a sensor or think there is a sensor fault? Even the power commander units come with a O2 sensor bypass which fools the ecu into thinking one is there. Just curious!

That definitely works...I learned it from an old hotrodder that used this little trick to remove broken and seized head bolts out of old Ford flathead engines. Has worked every time I've tried it.

Hi Warp, Yes the AFR Plus comes with a plug off the end of the lead wire device. I chose not to click off the O2 sensor with my TuneEcu and the Dobeck works great for me. Never any CEL.
