I was surprised to see the R3T heated grips were fitted to my new Roadster. Since they look a lot better than the ones that used to be specified for the R3 and Classic, I will be delighted, but only if the problems with the R3T ones have been addressed. From reports on this and other forums, the plastic 'pulley' on the R3T ones seems to deteriorate through the heating and cooling, and ends up breaking off. AFAIK this hasn't happened with the R3 type. So two questions - does anyone know if the R3T ones have been improved, and have any of these failed if they have been specified fro Roadsters since 2010?
This is what my new ones look like
Thanks
Mike

I have the Triumph heated grips on my Roadster. I have used them quite a bit. They are almost 1 year old And are still working.... But I don't know the answer as far as any improvement over the Tourer model.

My opinion on heated grips is they are good adjunct when it cools off a bit or rains & you don't want to put heavier gloves on.

For actually riding in very cold temps...heated jacket/vest & gloves (& socks) are the way to go.

I went through 2 sets on my R3T and both left me stranded. Needless to say, no more heated grips for me. Just purchased some great Joe Rocket gloves!

Ogre - do yours look like mine - in other words do they have the Triumph logo moulded into them?
Thanks

Yeah that's what's worrying me Excessive - the R3/Classic ones seem to have been fine but if these are the R3T ones either incorrectly ordered (or because Triumph have now got lots of R3T ones to get rid of, then I am going to be a bit worried too maybe 12 months down the track - I guess there wasn't any way you could tell if yours were deteriorating before they went ?

Same thing happened to me. Living in Arizona I decided I could forgo the luxury and didn't replace them.

yes, they look the same...but I believe there is a different part number for the Roadster vs. Tourer...so I don't know what (if any) the differences are.
