Had to leave Barbers Early

scot in exile,

Have you been under the tank recently and perhaps dislodged the vacuum hose that connects to the MAP sensor?

Another possibility is that the MAP sensor itself is dirty, blocked or damaged. You can by MAP sensor aerosol cleaner at AutoZone or O'Reilly's so it might be worth a punt. It takes only a tiny piece of debris to make the sensor FUBAR.

Appreciate the input Mark but I can guarantee all the vac lines are fine in fact I inspected them so closely I could tell you the serial numbers on each line.:D and do not get me started about changing the plugs I must hold the world record on that one.
Would that cleaner stuff just be the same as the canned air for cleaning keyboards?

... they told him that some of the early roadsters had a corrupt tune installed I called Carpenter and they asked me to send in the ECU and they would re flash it and install a new tune, I sent it off to them this morning so keeping my fingers crossed that this is the problem.
But a corrupt tune would not explain the high pressure reading ..........

Now getting back to all those bloody vac lines my question is as Florida is not an emission state can I remove them or some of them and plug the ports?
Greater* men than you have already asked that question
REMOVAL of EVAPORATIVE LOSS CANISTER | R3Owners

*(when I say 'greater' purely referring to physical size! - sorry 'Bull, couldn't resist that one :D   )

p.s. Since you are getting the ECU re-flashed, can you maybe hold off on removing the emissions gear, just to get an apples to apples comparison. Hopefully that's it but the high pressure still bothers me.

Hi,

No, it's not canned air. It comes out of the can under light pressure as a directed spray. I presume that the contents are formulated specifically so as not to damage MAP sensors as it is labeled exactly for the purpose.

MAP sensors seem to be easily damaged. I recently had an air filter change on a Ford Taurus and after 100 miles or so the bugger wouldn't run worth beans. Luckily I was right outside a main Ford dealership when disaster struck and they took the air intake apart and found a tiny piece of the new air filter had come off and gotten into the sensor somehow.

There is a tuner/mechanic in Melbourne, FL that can tune your pcv or direct with TuneBoy. Atlantic Cycle Service, John is the Tech, Colin the owner. He can dyno it with the mods you have made. 321-725-8151.

What was the resolution on this @scot in exile ?
I was revisiting this thread for some info that warp9.9 had provided and saw it never really got closed out.
What happened after the remap ....... as per my previous comments, it would not explain the high pressure reading, so curious to see how it progressed from there.

Been absent from here and just saw this thread and it sounds like a issue I had not long after I fitted PCV to my bike, there is a set of plugs that comes from PCV that goes down back of motor that intercepts signals from Crank Angle Sensor ( I think, been awhile) any way it places one of the connectors facing in such a way that it can collect water if you accidently spray it in behind the triangle plastic filler panel, it happen twice before I sealed back of PCV plug so water could not dribble down lead and sit in the square female reiever triumph plug causing the disruption to the signal.
So the question I ask is did this start after a washing down of bike or possibly a ride in a heavy down pour.
I actually filled the square receiver plug with dielectric grease and used some silicon to seal the back of male plug, oh it was only ever a drop or two of water either time so it does not take much to upset the signal
Hope this helps
Hans

Well the problem ended up being a corrupt tune, via Scott's help(warp) I phoned Carpenter and explained what was happening to him he said that some of the early Roadster had a corrupt tune and as he had installed the tune with the 210hp package he told me to send it to him and he would re-flash the ECU.
All is pretty good with the new tune getting a lot more milers to the tank(before I was getting 85-100)
Guys I appreciate all the help that was offered to me it really is a great bunch of guys on this site, Hanso would you happen to have a tune lying around for a 2011 Roadster with the Carpenter 210kit installed but minus the Carp exhaust system it has the Triumph Tors, it is still a wee bit hesitant in first gear but not to bad.

Sorry no not in my library but maybe one of the guys running the 210 kit that have had a dyno done might be able to download theirs then just adjust the F tables by -5 at a time in the F trim tables till it feel right, if you find someone prepared to share it I would love a copy to add to my base map library and will be more than happy to help modifie it for you once I get my Laptop back after a recent hard drive failure, my repairer is waiting for new part to arrive
