The reason I’m confused is that my dealer told me to check the oil when I come back from a ride: park the bike, wait 5 minutes, and then check the level. When I do it this way, the oil level is higher as the MAX mark.
I don’t understand why they give this advice, as it does not match the official manual procedure. He said that checking the oil level on this bike is quite complicated and that this method works better.
He also confirmed that he has never seen a Rocket 3 consume oil, and for this reason he told me not to worry — as long as I follow the regular service intervals, I should not have any issues.
However, I’m not fully convinced, because if there is ever a problem with the engine due to low oil, it would be my responsibility.
