Got distacted

IMO I don't think it makes it more dangerous, just that it serves no purpose except cosmetic - BUT, you did just mention something I didn't think about - place for pillion to hold onto, cept there's no seat for pillion?????
I like it if there's a seat for pillion, but loose the middle bar................. You asked our opinion ;)
Don't hate the opinion

My idea was going to make the whole back part Chrome with sports bar chrome as well, and just make a seat that screws on for passenger, and they could hang on bar, it would be a statement passenger seat that's for sure.
But I got the Corbin seat with passenger that I did over,if needed.
wife doesn't go with me much.
So trunks off and just want to have the one seater look for now, but somthing different.
Perhaps I could loose the leaghth of the passenger seat shorten it up and make the sport bar shorter, and just have the one bar like you say, would that look better for what I'm trying to go for?

If you come out of the saddle in an incident /accident the rider's back rest is shaped to either help hold you in place to maintain / regain control or if a big enough incident /accident impact funnel / slide you out and up, especially with the hinged ones. If you got tail-ended when stopped with the bar you are likely to go backwards (actually staying still with inertia) as the bike is shoved forward and away under you, possibly impacting your back or buttocks etc on bar.

Hey, its just a thought and don't let us stop you getting the look you want. Your riding it after all, not us. Still reckon the bar suits an uncluttered rear end without the rack though. ;)

VERY GOOD POINT

I was going to make a passenger seat and have it hug the back of the rider seat.

Then my mind wondered and said put a roll bar in the back, like these sport cars just behind the drivers seat. I also said forget about the passenger seat. I took my trunk off and decided to turn my bike into an one seater. In addition, I thought I would put a bar down the middle for extra support. Thinking I can chrome the metal (i.e. Chrome the tube and the bar). I'll paint the other part orange with black tribal so it looks like part of my fender.

Here are some pictures. What look better? The one with roll bar behind seat only?
Or the one with the added bar down the middle?
I figure it will be a nice piece to grab onto when moving my bike and gives an one seater a sports look.

It should also be easy to take off just like the pillon seat two screws and I could throw my double seat on.
Don't forget this will look a lot better in metal this is just a wooden proto type:)

Ok give it to me:) and any other ideas to improve it, or should I just scrap the idea because it doesn't look good?

I was also thinking since I'm not going to use it as a seat should I just shorten the back?

Both versions look good. That said, if you're going to be using the bar as a grab rail, probably gonna want the "Shelby" look! Cool Man.

But has you can see in picture I'm not even touching the sports bar, it's just for show just like a paint job is.
If God forbid I did get into accident I'm sure I'll fly off it like anyone else that does not have it.
If this would be dangerouse in crash then having a tall back rest that your leaning on would be even more dangerouse.?
Say I got my Coban seat that has a tall back rest for driver to lean on, and I put a chrome roll bar just behind the back rest the passenger could use it to hang on, this would be a danger for both if in accident?
I'm not sure I understand why?

IMFASTTOO and Isrub I'm really interested why you both think this cosmetic sports bar could be dangerouse in crash before I wast anymore time on it, or how can I inprove the idea so it's more safer?
Well you dont want to be stuck on the bike if you slide out as I try to get away from the bike if I go down and you dont want some superstrong roll bar dragging you along with the bike or trapping you between the bike and the road Ive had lots of crashes over the years from road riding and racing on dirt and asphalt race tracks .

IMFASTTOO, I appreciate your knowledge I can't speak for being in an accident thank god.
Can I assume a high-back seat (like the one I did over - a Honda Gold Wing) should not have the same concerns? See attached picture.
