Enlisting Mufasa for Salt Duty

...something to think about when you make all those calculations is the maximum amount of wheel slip you'll experience you can experience and still accelerate/maintain at high aero drag speeds. I do not posses any concrete #'s, but I see about 7% appear over and over again in research, and personal experience lines up **** close to that. When I do gear/mph calcs I generally take out about 8% from my theoretical max.... Kentucky windage for wheel slip, and the soft hysteresis zone around the rev limiter.

With excellent grip and/or a superb aero profile you may experience less slip over 180mph, but a big nekkid bike and the kind of salt we've been having the last few years are not leaning that way.

Yeah, that's mainly why I'm targeting a gearing accurate 215mph+.

The bike should be able to push up to 220mph (8300 RPM) on the 200/60 before power starts to notably drop off, so as long as slip is under 10% we should be good.

On the other hand....giant bricks aren't particularly aerodynamic haha, so who knows!

Hope your prep is going well, I am very excited to hear angry triple noises with the signature high pitch whine along with it!

Mine sounds a little more like a forklift dropped out of an airplane... turbo and a big dump pipe makes for.... odd notes.

It'll be neat to see. I hope I'm wrong about the speeds, but I feel like very low 200's are all that are gonna fall out of this bike if I'm lucky, and not for a lack of power. Granted, being 6'1" widens my aero profile a lot, so it is a bit of a guess.

I can say with some experience that 180's are possible on big nekkid bike that makes around 240hp... I did a couple 187's on a aerocharged Harley back in 2018... it had a pretty low to the ground posture, though. Same bike at 300hp struggled to go faster.... it would usually just blow the tire off for 3 miles... though it did eventually go 208 @ world of speed.

Same. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask, I'll PM you my #.

As far as I can find, the fastest officialy recorded Rocket 3 speed is 176.xx at a BUB event. A 180+ would take the crown for R3 overall.

162+ takes MPS-BG (I assume that's your reg). MPS-G (my reg)is no-entry, so all things willing we both walk away with entries!

All those blown entries were us 2 years ago... stock rpm/gearing/motors. The slow one was licensing passes for a rookie.

Hell yea, salt willing, I think we will! I'll be running the 3 of the faster blown entries... no real fairing this year to speak of. If you see our big yellow box truck stopped anywhere, swing by and grab a beverage!

Now that I have the bulk of the work done, adding steps...

Front brake delete, for the salt only:

I figure, since I've gone to this much effort I might as well spend the $20 and improve aero in the easiest possible way. Also sheds more weight, confident Mufasa will weigh in around 690lb wet/fueled.
