Dumbass Question.

Oh and I nearly Forgot my Manners

Wellcome from up North just a little bit to the right from Canberra Next time I'm down that way I'll let ya know we can get a coffee or something a little stronger, Cheers:D

Guys doesn't he need to start with a "15 minute tune".

Should have mentioned this.
Yes I did the self tune. Brought it home hot and left it idle for 20 minutes just to be sure.
Bike actually harder to start since I did this. I have to stay with it when I start it cold of a morning. No push the button and then walk away and put my gear on. It's put the gear on and sit on it with the throttle stightly cracked so it won't stall.
Impatience now makes me warm up for less than a minute then do the rest on a slow ride down the road. Problem there is I live in the country and am straight out onto open speed roads so by the time I've done 2 miles it running at normal speeds.
He's also a bit cranky on a hot start after sitting for 15 or 20. Have to slightly crack the throttle then as well.
It's like I need to turn the idle screw up an1/8th of a turn, but I don't think there is such a thing.

I'ts these niggling little imperfections that take the gloss off riding.

And Hanso.
Good point in highlighting colour. Black isn't a colour anyway, it's a contract, so the black ones don't even count do they.:eek::rolleyes::D

Mines RED with a lot of contrast.:cool::cool:

Ah someone else with Taste, next time you go to Pamblua let us know can be there iin 2hrs, just a thought (I forget the damm name of the damm sensor) but there is a "Crank Angle Sensor" I think they call it any way it can get covered in crap being magnetic and this will also effect the idle and starting of your bike, If you go to the left hand back of engine just below the driveshaft out put there is a couple of wires attached to a sensor held in by two 8 mm bolts aparently there may be a little oil come out but not much more than a cup at most (less if you have had the engine running so sump should be dry) any way from what I remember reading about it, it is very close to the starter ring gear so cops a bit of crap and you need to perodically pull it out and give it a wipe I also read (but don't quote me) it has a rubber o ring so should not be a problem as far as leaking as long as you are carefull, then give it the 12 min tune or go for a decent ride, the correct way to do the 12 min tune is to start from cold and let it idle with out touching the throttle for 12 min or till cooling fan comes on but in your case if it still won't start properly after wiping the sensor you will need to either go to a dealer or use TuneEcu, I can meet you at Pambula with mine if needed I have almost all the custom tunes loaded in my little 10 inch laptop which travels with me and the cable lives in the laptop bag, just let me know:D

oh and being a nite worker and on days (nites) off at moment am free all day if you are desperate nd want to get it sorted;)

Nice roads around Jindabyne and not a bad run up there from Cooma. I also love the run up from Bermagui to Cooma. Problem is the road from Cooma to Canberra is about as boring as it gets - and heavily patrolled by bastards. In fact the loop from Canberra through Batemans Bay to Bermagui (o'nite at the pub) then Bemboka, Cooma, Canberra is a great weekend outing - which I haven't done for a while. 500km round trip with Bemi about 250km whichever way you go.

well if he comes up to Pambulla you could meet me here and we can go down there together:eek:

Lookin like there's a few of us North of the Mexican border (or just below in my case) and South of Sydney.
Any others on here from Southern Highlands and such???

Maybe make a weekend of it. 2 nights and a big loop around the mountains sometime before it get too bloody hot. Pub's or camping, I don't mind.

Bloody hell. This thread has got a long way of the topic.

Hanso. Will go clean that crank angle sensor today and then re-do the auto tune and see what it does.

You've also relieved a bit of stress in my mind as to loading all this stuff onto my little laptop. Didn't want to crowd it up as it slows them down too much when like that.

Cable still hasn't arrived yet but will be straight into downloading as soon as I get it.

Cheers all.

just make sure you use a good 10 inch laptop running XP preferibley with a good RAM and Good Processor Speed the first time you connect make sure you upload the tune in ECU and rename it something you will remember and save it, it will take a while the first time you connect so make sure you have power(computor) supply handy and maybe put bike battery connected to a Tender to maintain charge in Bike system especially if your battery is at all doubtfull (it will take a few minutes the first time so don't stress after that it only takes 30 seconds or so to make changes)
