Dumbass Question.

Thanks all for your replys.
Bit of helpful info in amongst the baggings.

Funnily enough, nearly every bike I've ever had that got a change in colour scheme ended up turning black but I'm not in a rush to change this one.
It's already had nearly all the chrome painted out in satin black. Only shiny bits now are Jardines, rear shocks, front tubes/triple trees and headlight/speedo rings (backing pods are black).
I reckon if I paint the panels black then it will just look like a Roadster, then I have lost my individuality.

Besides. Have you ever heard the Kevin Bloody Wilson song "Living next door to Alan".
Acording to that the red ones go faster here in Oz.

Dougl.
Tripp's tune sounds to be about where I'm aiming for so thanks for the link.
Haven't downloaded anything yet as I can't go anywhere till the cable arrives (and I'm a numbnut when it comes to computer programing).
Would be an interesting exersize to put it on the Dyno and compare the differences with the new tune in it.

Another question.
When I do get to plug into the ECU, will the computer be able to tell me what tune it is currently running??? IE: Stock, Triumph sports tune???
It only seems to have the stock ECU, but could it have a Tuneboy already done??
How can you tell from the outside???

Did Someone Say TBS

Sorry,

I just couldn't resist. Congratulations Cobba on the new beast. Folks here will certainly give you a hand getting the tuning sorted out. I am down to just my R3 and the Bumble Bee in the photo. Both are a blast to ride and the most fun I have ever had on two wheels. You are going to miss the TBS. I looked for over a year to find the right one.

Nice bike Britman.
Mine was a 2003 Black with yellow flash. Had Thunderbike 3:1 pipe.
Yes, I will miss it. Did a 2700K trip to Queensland and back 2 weeks before I sold it.
I enjoyed it but the fellas in the HDs riding with me didn't like the bellow coming from the pipe too much.
I got religated to the back of the pack most of the time or I had to ride out front by myself.
Bloody sooks.

One day when I look into posting pics I'll stick a few up of them.

You can't tell from the outside. When you get TuneECU hooked up, follow the instructions in the manual to upload the map that's in your ECU, then save it. Then you can compare it to other stock and custom maps using the ECU software.

Go and check my website. Some of your questions already answered.
As soon you plug Tunecu in, it will start to download the actual tune. You should save it as Original. If you run in problems you can always play it back. Make sure the headlight is of or your battery is on an charger. If you run out of power during mapping you will have a big problem.

Blood Oath, To Bloody Right, Mate!! the rest of the world has not yet caught up with us, they still think that Black as that which is used on those Hardly Ableson's is Cool, they just haven't been able to completely come over to the Real Power World I'm sure they just hide behind the blacck colour cos they aren't ready to Man Up!! and to be honest any colour is better than Black

Good luck n welcome I have a 2010 R3R wit the jardines system drop in k&n &a pc-v it made 145 HP 165tq still has more in it but iam letting my rocket go to a new home n buying another bike I have some new n slightly used parts for sale welcome to the club :D

Guys doesn't he need to start with a "15 minute tune". Start the bike, get it to idle and let it idle for 15 minutes. The ecu should reset itself to factory specs with some minor adjustments. It can handle some minor adjustments but not some major ones. It would be a good place to start.

No, if he is riding it every day the Ecu/O2 sensor would have already adjusted it self possibly to lean, the 12 minute tune does nothing that 15 minutes riding doesn't do.
Using TuneEcu, find a correct tune for his set up make sure the secondaries are open 100%(makes the bottom end much smoother)then follow the directions to reset the TPS will be far better and have a better result especially if the O2 sensor has leaned him of to much, I personlly have found that I now have my O2 sensor box unchecked to stop the ECU/O2 sensor leaning of the bottom end, Bike starts better runs smoother on light throttle (it kept developing a flat spot at just under 3,000RPM) and no decel pop, over the time I have changed tunes as I have made mods every time I left the O2 sensor checked it ended up with decel pop and rought cold start not to mentionthat horrid:eek: flat spot... noth said
