Dreadful footrests position on Roadster

I cant stand the footrest position on my 13 roadster, the bike is great but my hips f---ing kill me. Im used to cruisers not sports bikes and I have been riding since I was 8 and im now 55, without a rest, so im bloody tired. So I have purchased a set of Raask movable footrests. The idea seems great, I can set them in the most comfortable position for me. I intend to fit them this weekend. has anyone fitted these already and if so are there an issues or things I need to know. The good thing about this system is I can replace all the original parts if I need to.Thanks.
I added the RIVCO HIGHWAY PEGS and mounts and they worked out great

At First the riding position of the Rocket X hurt a bit. I to was used to riding with the pegs or floorboards more forward. Being very stubborn I began to do stretching exercises which at first hurt like hell. At 57 it was no fun at all. Now five months later no pain at all. Not only did it help to make the ride more enjoyable but now it has greatly improved ever day movement too. Riding the Fatboy with the stretch out position seems odd compared to the Rocket X and very awkward. I really enjoy the way the Rocket handles and believe a lot has to do with the riding position.

@Roadhog The reason I stuck with my '09 for so long was because I hated (and still hate) the peg position on the Roadster. The '09 pegs were also not far enough forward but I managed OK with a set of highway pegs positioned so I could have my heel on the rider peg and toe on the highway peg; giving me 3 positions for my feet.

I've never understood why Triumph firstly decided to put them forward, and then put them back, assuming everyone wanted the same position. Even when there were the 2 styles they didn't offer them both at the same time so riders could choose. More baffling is that the bloody things are on rails - why weld the pegs in one place at all? The RAASK set up always appealed to me but I never get around to it. At least they had the right idea. Good luck with them. I have seen them on a bike and the owner was pleased. Looked good too.

It does seem as though many Rocket owners have an issue with the Roadster footrest position, When I have fitted the Raask movable footrests kit I will post a picture, its seems to make sense and not expensive, full kit direct from Raask in Sweeden for £290 $450, for everything you supposedly need to convert to any foot position. I will let you know.

If I had the classic rails and legs, I would never get out of first gear (shortish legs) I like the roadster position but hiway pegs a must for long trips.
BTW welcome from Brisbane Australia
And where are you in the world?

Just FYI -
Pix of what I did to my 2012 R3R:

If you both want to, you can switch the classic floorboards for the roadster pegs, It is an easy swap.

Hello 1olbull.... I have a 2008 classic with the similar floor boards. I can't tell from the pick but do they allow any ajustment???

Regards Sportsman...

@Sportsman if your referring to the angle Bulls floor boards are then no they are not. I believe from his picture he has the Classic Boards (like yours) on Standard peg rails. There was a time these kits were done so people with Standards could add the boards if they wanted.

My understanding and from what I've read on here its quite expensive to do the conversion (please correct me if I'm wrong). i would love to have boards...I hate pegs and especially the position of them on my Roadster. At least if they were more forward or you could buy forward controls I could live with that. As it stands right now if I ride any distance I take my Fatboy only because it is way more comfortable. Gotta find a reasonable solution as I would love to take my Rocket for a long ride.

Find someone with an original Rocket and do the whole rail swap. I think the pegs are about 5 inches further forward than the roadster?

The (more) forward controls are about the ONLY thing I don't like about my '05. I'd swap.
