Diagnostic tool

Just been looking through the workshop manual, the diagnostic tool shown in there is for sale at over £1600, in short too ****ed expensive. Is there a cheaper option that will do the same job, is it too much to ask that TuneECU will do it?

TuneECU does what the dealer tool or newer diagnostic software will do, and much more.

The dealer tool is no longer sold to dealers unless they specifically ask for it. Instead they tend to use the diagnostic software and cable.
