Dan Diego's Asphalt Adventure w/Photos!

Good narrative of your accident and situation Dan.

Fortunate that you're not busted up worse than what you are. And your bike is fortunate as well (could've been worse). Hope you heal quickly; good move in going to the ER to get checked out.

It does suck to dump your bike, we all try so hard not to. Experience is borne from mistakes, and studied mistakes by others.

Get back on the bike soon.

;)

Thanks for posting....With riding season approaching here in the North East, its a great reminder to check all safety gear and a thourough once over to make sure the bike is sound...........Even though your accident was so sudden, it sure helped me to make a checklist and start going over the safety aspects for this years riding season.

Good Luck on the recovery! :D

Busted Up

I'm sorry to hear of your mishap DanDiego, Went off at over 100MPH myself @ 24. Walked away but still payin' for it every day. I agree with the saying, Two kinds of bikers those that have and those that will. Be safe and heal up quickly. Best regards, Marty:cool:

Folks, this is the R3T that did the USA 4 Corners tour. It must be saved!!

Oh, and I hope you heal up quick, too. :p

Seriously, glad to hear that the bumps and bruises are no worse than they are.

"So, question for the peanut gallery: is it true that there are two kinds of riders? Those who have gone down and those that will? Ouch..."

...apparently so...not looking forward to my time if it ever comes...though maybe my little spill pullin in for gas in 1993 before I went off to Somalia counts.

Glad to hear that you are hurt no worse than what happened though I'm sure you have plenty of pain to remind you...but at least it wasn't worse.

Hopefully the bike can be repaired and both of you will be back to a "as good as new" condition soon.

Sorry to hear about your "off", Dandiego. Great to hear that the 2 of you have come out of it relatively unscathed. I had my big "off" 20 years ago when a cager turned in front of me with no indicator and am hoping that the percentages are in your and my favor now that it won't happen again.;)

All the best for a full, speedy recovery (for both of you):)

I am sorry to hear of your crash, glad that you are doing well enough to write us from home and not the hospital, and from the pics the RIIIT does not look like what I would imagine a 50 mph drop would do so it held up well. If we can help in any way, just ask.
