In that particular picture that :sick:looks like a Harley Davidson with a funny engine. Maybe flattery will get Triumph somewhere but not with me. That sucker could do stand in duty for a 10 year old FLT Classic right down to the front fender trim bar.

It does look better in that picture than the magazine pictures my buddy on the other side of our depressed state posted but alas, it's a cookie cutter copy of an American icon right down to the hard bags. We'll see how it fares. The American motorcycling public is getting increasingly more particular about what they buy and copying is flattery but it's a copy, not the original and does this copy inherent the engine and drive line problems? I hope not. Guzzi tried the same thing and lost just like Kawasaki did by copying the Bonnie with the W650 and that bike sat on the dealership floors until Kawasaki discontinued it. Oddly, the W650 is a desirable bike now, but when it was in production Kawasaki couldn't give them away. Will Bloor have to give these away? Only time and a fickle market will tell.

It does indeed look better than in the mag. But I am still not getting it. To me it's redundant with a Classic dressed with leather bags a sissy bar, a lugage rack and a full-size windshield, all readily available from Triumph's catalogue. And the Classic has a unique visual identity (but maybe that's precisely what Triumph wants to tone down ).

Plus Triumph would need to offer a top case and probably a full-size fairing, even as extra-cost options, to lure Gold Wing and Electra Glide customers, not to mention a bunch of on board electronic gadgets...

Wish Triumph lots of luck on this one:cool:
