corbin dual tourer not so hot

I don't have any pics, but it's pretty simple.

1) take all the Corbin mounting crap off,

2) get a short piece of wooden dowel rod about the length of the pin on the stock seat.

3) go get your wifes lipstick, (I'm not kidding) Preferably one she doesn't use much anymore.

4) Goober up the end of the dowel with the lipstick
insert the dowel in the clip on the bike that holds the seat pin!

5) slide the nose of the seat under the tank bracket and then slowly set the back end of the seat down where it belongs.

6) lift the seat up and you'll see a lovely rose or blush spot where you need to place the pin from the original seat.

7) now drill the two rivets holding on the stock pin.

8) get a couple small carriage bolts, to mount the pin on to the Corbin seat.

9) place the pin so that it lines up with your lovely mark from the lipstick, drill two holes into the base where the rivets were to mount your carriage bolts.

10) I pushed away some of the foam in the area where the pin goes, and put the carriage bolts down through the base.

11) Attach the pin tighten with a little loctite (Red) voila.

thanks, i'm surprised it's at the right height, but i'm going try it.

another hint for those who haven't put the corbin on yet, get some of the clear paint protector. the front of the seat rubbed clompletely through the paint on the rear of the tank. luckily it's another excuse to give my wife for a custom paint job.

seat

Hey Yogi,
Your smarter than the average bear!! I removed the lock pin setup completely and made my own clip so the solo seat sits on the frame. My corbin would still work with your setup, just adjust the pin height. Good one Yogi!

Still no heat

Nope, the heater is still not working.
While I was at the myrtle beach bike rally, I spotted a corbin truck. A corbin vendor setup out of an 18 wheeler.

What luck I thought. I showed the guy my seat, I knew I was in trouble when he said, "i didn't know we made heaters" He went back and talked to somebody in the back. Only to come out and report that they were not equipped to service a heated seat. But he took my address down and promised to send me a new switch.

My switch blinks every 2 seconds, doesn't stay lit solid.

So I send another email to corbin. Explaining what happened and again asked them if they would consider adding the latch pin, if I had to send the seat back. I even through in quotes of these posts telling about how bad the seat fits. This was her reply
Thanks for your information. I talked to one of our tech's and he said there may be a shortage in the wiring . Double check wires if no luck then I'll give you a return number to fix this for you. About the latching pin, due to the Dual tour seat being larger then the fast gun a latching pin will not secure the seat.

For right now, I suppose i will be waiting for a new switch. I did manage to talk the vendor out of a latch pin, so I plan on adding it myself, if I ever get the heater working.
