I got my new seat in today. I went all the way. A dual touring seat with drivers backrest, heated. I had a little time during lunch to look at it.

Corbin may make some great stuff, but I think they need to go back and re-think the way they are mounting this thing.

Instead of using triumphs nifty latch system, someone had the bright idea to bolt this to the rear fender. Ok, it is a big seat and might need some extra support, but the darn thing is so heavy, you can just sit it there, and it's not going anywhere.

So now, instead of being able to pop off the seat with your key, you have to break out the tools. But wait a minute- you don't have any tools because they are UNDER THE SEAT! DUH... Hope you don't ever have a need for that emergency toolkit.

Then to add insult to injury, they give you these Velcro straps from the dollar store so that you can Velcro your fuse box lid back on, because their wiring connector won't fit inside the fuse box.

It's a 7.5 amp fuse connector, so I pulled one of the 10 amps and plugged it in. Now my bike won't crank. I read some more of the instructions, they recommend plugging into the heated grip fuse. Ok, I do that, now my heated grips won't work.

By now, I am running out of time so I have to head back to work. Maybe they sent me a bad fuse, I'll check that when I get back at it tonight. I got to get the thing installed before I leave for the Myrtle Beach rally tomorrow.

Don't get me wrong; I love Corbin’s seats; I like the firm seat and the quality work. But they could have done a better job fitting it to the bike.

i got the same seat w/o heat and wait till you try to install it. it's a bear!! i had to really modify, reposition and open up the holes on the mounting brackets to get it to fit. they say that the first time is tough, but that's an understatement. i feel like this designe was a quick one just to get a seat out there for the r3. the corbin seats i had on harleys were great

I got a Corbin dual touring seat from the factory in Hollister last month and they couldn't even get the brackets to line up after they put it on...turns out that R & D measured the bracket holes before they put the final cover on the seat, so it doesn't line up.

I told them of the problems Captains on this site had had trying to get the seat to fit and they promised to have R & D fix it and thanked me for telling them by covering my sissybar pad for free and throwing in a bottle of their leather conditioner. So, we'll see 8)

Amen! I have the Dual Tour Heated also and watched/helped as the dealer installed it - a pain in the @$$; the bracket didn't align with the mounting bolts on the seat and we ended up bending the bracket in a vise to get it to align. Plus I'm thinking the stock seat on my '06 Classic was more comfortable!

heat not working

Well I figured the fuse out. The dummy that I am wasn't plugging the original fuse back into thier doodad thingy. I wasnt aware that they were adding a circuit, neat little plug.

Nevertheless. after getting it worked out, I flip the switch and the light blinks every two seconds. I wait and wait and wait, no heat.

I even tried hooking the hot wire right up to the battery terminal, still no heat. Just a blinking swtich. Any ideas?

Love mine - sure it is a pain having to use an allen key to get the thing off onad on but the ride sure makes up the difference for me and the Mrs

Or you can do what I did and take the pin off the original seat and mount it to the Corbin. :D

Eliminating their POS bracket
