competition for Rocket 3??

I don't see where this will be much different than the "new" F6B Goldwing. Looks to be the same engine, a good one, but not nearly as fast as an R3R.
The Wing does have great handling, likely better than the Rocket; however, its ergonomics are quirky with feet tucked way back on account of the engine desiogn. Shifting can be quirky as well dur to this location. 17 inch rear wheel with a 19 inch front wheel, wow that's getting moto-cross size! ABS optional? BS on that.

Likely shall be a very nice motor; but, performance wise definitely way behind the Rocket.
Just my first blush thoughts,

A little less stupid looking than the F6B but not by much. I can't believe Honda's marketing though. Or more to the point that Honda actually believes that anyone actually falls for the drivel they come out with. Obviously working on the principle that if you say something often enough, gullible people will start to believe it's true. Saying a bike is cool doesn't make it cool. They probably go OK but I wouldn't want one of these if it as given to me.

I had a 99 Valkyrie. Some of the forum guys had over 300k miles with few problems. It had 100 hp. That engine is silky smooth but not a power match for the Rocket. The new F6B seems to be very similar and priced at about 20k. When you look at a new Rocket for 14,999, it seems like the Rocket would win out. There just aren't enough Triumph dealers and many people don't get to compare the Rocket with the Hondas.

Now doubt it will appeal to some and you cant question Honda build quality and reliability - not my cup of tea though.

Honda do seem to be going more 'radical' - how about this -

Is it a replacement for the ST1300?

Sorry - but this thing is seriously fugly!

If that you tube clip was filmed in Australia Honda and the rider would be expecting a visit from the local traffic branch.
The add doesn't tell us much I had a Kawasaki 1000 when Iwas 18 that would do a 3rd gear burnout over a 100 meters long. If thats the best Honda can do they havn't come far in over 30 years.

Hmmmmmmmm.
Correct me if I'm wrong but the Rocket is still the largest production bike in the world, I love saying that. As for everyone else.......there is no second place, just last.
Good Luck Honda.
