Clutch Failure - Clutch will not disengage.

Road the bike back home, still seems like it has the same vibration. Both mechanics rode it, compared it to their demo bike and believe that the vibration is normal. I have logged the issue with the dealer and plan on riding the hell out of it asap. I am not very impressed by the build quality of the shaft. Seems like it would benefit from hardening or stronger stock.

bukwas, I am curious,
If you don't mind me asking would you say your shifting style is soft, medium, or hard/fast? I am curious to know if you were a bit hard on this machine, or if it was just way under-engineered. I am so tired of hearing of simple components failing on these machines, I am already on my second rocket III, and am not over all convinced that all of the bugs are worked out. I hate owning something that I have to baby it , and hope that nothing breaks. Because these are expensive breaks. That's why I had to get rid of my first rocket, and now on my second one, and am wondering if I should sell it before something stupid happens to it. Rademis

If the clutch has the proper freeplay adjustment, the wear and eventual breakage of the shaft is a non-issue. the reason the shaft broke was a mis adjusted clutch and the technician adjusted it and adjusted it improperly. That's not at all impressive. I wouldn't trust that idiot to unplug a toilet, let alone work on my bike, but then we've already discussed that offline.

Beat that sucker like your ex wife..... Well, like you fantasize doing anyway........ Me, I'd fantasize beating the idiot that took all the freeplay out of your clutch and then told you it was fine. If he had told me that, I'd have stuffed him. I have no tolerance for stupidity and incompetence.

I'm gonna have to ride your bike sometime next year and you can ride mine (after it gets fixed, that is). I want to feel this vibration first hand before I make a judgment and you aren't that far from me. I have no vibration whatsoever until it's over 100 mph and then, just a little.

I would say medium and I have not beat on it at all. The bike has not seen 100mph yet.... I would have bought a r3 if I wanted a fast machine. I purchased a touring model for the tourque and comfort for my wife. Good question though.. I think Triumph will see more failures in this part. Might be a good opportunity for someone to manufacture some, with better stock or lightly harden them. Time will tell......
