can the rear tyre be removed without damaging it?

My dealer had no problem getting my new Metz off my rim after I had a flat. (1500 miles). And mine did go down to the rim! In fact, I had parked on the right side of the road (USA), and with the rear flat, and the side stand down, the bike was virtually sitting straight up and down. While trying to get plugs in it, and getting to the valve stem, the bike fell over on me! After 4 plugs, 2 cans of fix a flat, and 2 trips to air up the portable air tank, I got it home. Dealer took off the metz, and installed a Bridgstone. I told them I wanted to keep the metz, to patch and tube, for my hardley. I got it back without a mark on it. The proper tire machine, and someone who knows their stuff is required though.8)
