I think any big windshield looks crappy, but if you want highway touring comfort with your face shield up, its the only way to do it. These bikes don't have the aerodynamics of modern touring bikes. Even my Adv. bike has a flat across the front design that blocks some wind. The rocket is like a 70's bike. With a old school gas tank, that you might have put a windjammer, or plexi fairing on.....One thing I did that helped are these fork mounted wind deflectors I made. They keep wind from riding up your legs in the forward controls position. Again, they don't do anything for the looks of the bike. I'm about to head out to Maine for a few days, and this trip will be my first real test of all this wind management stuff. I have the first shield I bought for sale. For Sale - 7 Jurock 22" medium gray tint windshield for new gen. Rocket By the time it came I already had a 2 1/2" taller one on. It might work if you're under 6'.

You can call Mark directly on his cell phone and ask for a custom size shield. That's what I did. The other thing to keep in mind is how much better the wind management is with fork mounted wind deflectors. They make a world of difference for me. I just got these. Amazon.com but I ordered some polycarbonate to make my own "wings". I'll use the mounts they come with. I also put a spoiler at the top of the screen to try to replicate a "flip" that some shields have. Seems to help. I'm tall, (6'5" with 34" inseam) so I needed a tall shield. the taller shield needed supports/mounts on the handlebars.

Good to know they will make custom windshields. The wings would help. I notice when I have my visor up when I'm riding the wind goes over my helmet so much beter, so a wing at the top of the windshield probably works pretty well. I could actually use a windshield a couple inches taller and I'd be set. Think I'll give them a call next time I have money to burn.

If you just need a couple of inches higher, you could put a spoiler on like I did, but at the height you need. I put it about even with the top of the shield. Since that's where I can look over it by a bit. The spoiler seems to kick the wind up some. Letting you look over a little more before the buffeting starts. I wasn't thrilled with the extra "stuff" at the top of the shield. certainly cleaner looking without. but function over form I guess
