Jonah, you are a brave man!

Yes, you should replace that detent spring - it's cheap insurance. More than likely it's advisable that you replace the primary TPS, upgrade your battery terminal wires to a heavier gauge, clean, re-crimp and dielectric grease the spaded coil connectors and upgrade your OEM ignition with the Esatern Beaver kit - all electrical, I know, but these thjings are more often a question ofd if, not when in terms of their failure and it would be a shame for you to get your new baby all right and tight mechanically, only to contemplate Seppuku/harikiri should any of these, more minor annoyances fail!

Thanks for the tip! I ha e been looking T threads for the eastern beaver upgrade (since you recommended) it appears to just be beefed up wiring and an additional relay. Is that what you are referring to?

Essentially, yes! You can DIY, Jonah

I believe @DEcosse makes a kit and he’s a member and right here in the USA.
You should contact him as I think his is more of a plug and play much cleaner then the EB kit. Just saying as the EB kit is fine I have it on both my Rockets. But if I had it to do again and his was plug and play and available back then I'd have his instead.

@warp9.9 - I read your posts in awe - how can one man know and understand soo much about these..?? Hey, ho..it is brilliant to read even though I will forget 90% of the relevant information before I get to the end of the paragraph. Nice :cool:
It is great to have the knowledge and nohow of these fine gentlemen at the push of a button. My thanks to all as well.

Whats going on with your standard ?
Looks like I have to go in. She is now popping out and in of second, under throttle. I am gonna baby her until I get back from Stearns. If you go real easy on second, it will stay in. Any heavy throttle and it pops out and in. I will drop sump as well.
