A few weeks ago I had Sargents in Jacksonville modify my seat. They did exactly what I asked them to; level off the passenger pillion, raise my surface about an inch and a half, move the crease back, recover it with cording. The intended purpose was to allow me to move back a little. I didn't...
Thinking of getting the Triumph passenger gel seat to replace the standard pillon. Any experience with the comfort of this seat? Is it hard to install? Money aside, is it better to get the 1 piece rider and passenger Triumph gel seat for the standard Rocket? Will the standard saddle clash with...
I have the quick release backrest and luggage rack on my R3T. If I purchase the solo seat and luggage rack (that fits where the pillion seat goes) must I remove or change the mounting hardware for my quick release backrest? Put another way, can I easily swap between the solo seat, luggage rack...
First off I want to give a late thanks to HeR3tic for his instructions on getting the seat off. Now before he gets a swelled head...the instructions he gave did not work in my case...but they did lead me to another solution.
What I did was approach getting the seat off from the other side. I...
I had the wife drop the seat off at Sargent's (downtown Jacksonville) this morning on her way to work. Now the bike's apart in the garage until Friday night and it's killing me. Today, 68 and sunny. It's perfect bike weather in North Florida.
I looked at Russell, Corbin and Triumph, (longhaul...
I had an appointment to get a custom saddle for my 2008 R3T this morning. Mother Nature had other ideas though as it snowed early this morning, about one inch. It might as well been two feet as far as I'm concerned. I've been on the ground sliding behind my bike in 1/8" of powder so I didn't...
I'm looking for an optional seat that offers more comfort for my wife and I. We rode a couple of hundred miles yesterday. Near the end of the ride she started complaining of discomfort. She wants a new seat that's wider. The Triumph web site has a Longhaul Touring Seat with a rider's seat...
I installed a solo seat and rider backrest on Rosie last night. I can't wait to give her a test run with it. It appears to be a bit more plush than stock and I was perfectly happy with the stock seat. I mainly just like the look of a solo seat. I also another motive. I ride with a fairly...
This is the chrome rack that fits over the rear fender when using the solo seat. Will this rack work with the quick disconnect docking station? I have a quick disconnect back rest for when my wife rides, but would like to go to the solo seat and rack when it's just me.
Well... I just ordered one for my '07 R3C Tourer. Any bits of wisdom I might glean from our wonderful membership? It should be done just in time for my arrival back home (bit less than three weeks).
I am having a lot of trouble removing rider solo seat - I put the key in and twist and it won't pop loose - '07 Rocket with solo rider seat - it's been popping off easy in the past - but now it won't budge - key turns but I can't get it to click seat free - I've pounded and pushed on rear part...
I had a pillion rider for the first time this weekend (my daughter) and she said she felt a lot of vibration in the seat and pegs compared to my old Valkyrie. Is that normal for an R3 or should I be checking wheel balance etc.? What do your passengers tell you?
Check out the work Allen at Fat Asp Seats did on my Rocket seat. He moved the backrest rearward, built it up, dished the seat and recovered it all for $350.00 which I think was a deal. He made it fit perfect and look much better for about half the price I was going to pay for a new Corbin...
Here are some photos of my new Saddleman gel seat pad. It straps under the seat and is velcroed to the top of the strap on top of the seat.
Will be testing it on a dinner ride next Saturday from D&D Cycles to the Steak and Ale on N. Davis Hwy by way of Century, Jay and down the Chumukla Hwy...
I've been eying the Russell Day Long seat but can't quite rationalize around $500 or more.
I ran across this site tonight and it maybe a cost effective solution to "Iron Butt" syndrome!
