Looking for the best price on Progressive Shocks 440's

Guys, I want to upgrade stock suspension to 440's (black) in the rear and the progressive fork kit in front. 1. I weigh 300 and assume that the HD is the way to go or do I go normal?? 2. Should I shorten or lengthen the shocks. If so why?? Not seeing any scraping in cornering YET, but I am...
  2. Progressive 440's??

Hello: I am a new Rocket owner (06 Classic), and I came across a set of Progressive 440 shocks for a tad bit over $100 and am considering buying them. I weigh in at about 280, and was wondering if the Progressive's will drastically improve my ride over stock shocks? Any feedback would be...

    Progressive Suspension Musings

As most of you know by now, I will be Rocketeer by the end of the 1st qaurter of 2010, so i am trying to learn all thAt i can to prepare myself for any necessay/desired mods. Many have suggested that the beast will benefit from a better shock in the rear and very few have indicated that the...

    progressive 412's

Finally got to ride this past weekend with the new shocks and I must say that they make a difference. My first clue was that for most of the ride I did not think about the fact that I had just put on new shocks, I did not think about the supension at all. No pogoing in the corners, no jarring...

    Blown Progressive shocks?

I think I have a failed (right hand) Progressive 440 shock. I noticed some old slime on the right side of the swing arm while doing some cleaning. Looks like it had been there a while. Anyway, are the Progressive 440 shocks rebuildable? If so, do yo uknow if they must go back to Progressive...
  6. Anyone running progressive 412s???

These are less expensive than the 440s and I'm a tourer type of a rider and wonder if they will do the trick??
  7. Progressive 440s rust after 4 months

Progressive 440s rust after 4 months

Progressive 440s rust after 4 months - Progressive wont exchange saying "rub the paintback and repaint at your own expense". DO NOT BUY PROGRESSIVE SHOCKS!
  8. Progressive ?

Are progressive still in business? Last time I talked to them, 2-3 months ago, while trying to purchase pairs of 440's (from memory) for fellow Rocket owners, their reply was: "sorry we are moving to another location" . I remember posting something here accordingly I wrote a f/u message to...
  9. Issue with Progressive 440's

Just a heads-up for anybody thinking about going to these shocks. On the good side, they improved the ride dramatically over the OEM shocks. The Progressive's are great shocks. Getting rid or the OEM shocks was the first thing I did with the bike, and it made all the difference in the world...
  10. Progressive Suspension...

... report that "they are in the process of moving location" and "are unable to get shipping quotes" (note to me dated yesterday after 2-3 weeks of... silence) Does one of you know what's going on ? Am a bit worried, following the demise of Viking Motorcyles last month (another...

Stock shocks vs. Progressive 440 HD

Ok, I know everybody loves the 440s. I am a big fat bastard, 6'3" and 350lbs. There is no way I'd be doing myself a favor on the standard 440s. I've seen a couple of comments on how the 440 HD felt no different than stock. Is that the general concensus? I'm ready to order some but dont want to...

    440 progressive shocks

What is the correct way to install these shocks? PS instructions weren't very clear concerning the clearance of .020. All of the hardware they sent with the shocks wasn't needed? I wasn't able to get a real torque setting when tightening the bolts. Hope someone can help. thanks MarkC

    Progressive 440 installation question

OK you captains who have changed the stocker shockers to the Progressive 440 model. Being an individual who understands that, at the least, one should "review" the instructions before altering an expensive unit such as the Rocket, I see that it states there should be "at a minimum" .020...
  14. Pix of Progressive 440s?

About to order a set for the new Rocket III, but I'd really like a set that is fully chromed like the stockers. The ones I see online have a black ring at the top and bottom, and a big honkin' logo at the bottom. Any photos of installed 440s would be appreciated. Also, can they be found in...

I got my progressive shocks today from MAW. I was wondering if there are any tips and tricks that would make life easier during the install, and perhaps after that anyone would be willing to share...
  16. progressive 440's

I was just wondering where the best place is to buy a pair of 440's. I saw that mawonline has them for $388. That is the cheapest I have found. Let me know if you have a better source. Thanks Dave 06 R&W Classic

    Progressive Shocks

I just took my first ride after I installed the Progressive 440's. (Sixty degrees today and sunny.) What a world of difference. Tomo is right, well worth the price. Ride is great and handling actually feels better.
  18. Leaking Progressive 440's

I had the pleasure of obtaining a used pair of Progressive 440 shocks, they were one year old and some slight rusting on the springs. The previous owner had them replaced under warranty due to the rusting. I tried them on my bike and I must say the difference was amazing. Sadly one of the shocks...
  19. Progressive 440 settings

I installed some new Progressive 440's this afternoon. I started at the absolute softest setting and then cranked until I saw one indicator ring on each side. Seemed to be alright but just curious what others have found to be the best setting or what setting would be recommended. I weigh...
