hi, am new to the r3 forum my names mick, just got my first rocket111 classic 57 plate, and was wondering if any of you guys know if the r3 handlebars would fit the rocket classic, I am 6ft 4 and feel the classic pull back bars are a little too close for me. there is a set on ebay and was gonna buy if I thought whey would fit.. any help much appreciated mick.

G'day and Welcome Mick .. not sure what a 57 plated Rocket is but the handlebars are interchangeable. The Classic model has a 3 inch longer clutch cable but apart from that no difference as far as fitting them goes. Oh yeh , helps if you let the other Owners which part of the world you are in.

cheers for the info mate, ye you are right should have said I was in Scotland uk, a 57 plate is what we call a second half 2007, an o7 plate being the first half of 2007, ye still confuses me too an I live here. so if I put regular bars on a classic the longer clutch cable will be ok or will it need renewed.

No the longer Classic cable won't be a problem , be fine to use it with the Standard handlebars. Ok Mick got the 57 plate thing , thanks for explanation.

I had a problem with my Classic bars but before forking out for a replacement I twisted them down a tad and found that they were much more comfortable. Might be worth trying before spending your hard earned.

If you do it, check clearance bar-to-tank both ways before locking up screws. I have mine as close as they can go.

G'day Mick. You might also want to make sure a previous owner hasn't fitted risers. Perhaps unlikely but worth checking. Be a lot easier just to pull those out than replace the bars.

Mick if you do decide to swap bars why by from flebay and pay shipping when you can just send them to me and I will send you a set of standard bars :)
Just something to think about.

The throttle cables are longer too but aren't really a problem, just dangle a bit more.

The longer clutch cable will only give a problem if you have a roadster screen fitted because the extra length cable will push against it when the bars are moved. I used to swap the bars about on an almost weekly basis trying to get comfortable on my 05 Rocket. Classic bars on a Roadster don't work with the footpeg position for me so I didn't bother and stuck with standard. I find the standard bars make the bike feel more easy to chuck about.
