I'm getting less decisive on which windshield/vest to buy with the more I read. I want a good looking shield with good performance. I want to be able to quickly remove it. I've looked at the windvest.com site, and was hoping to get a little more detail on removal and replacement. When you remove the windvest, is there much mounting hardware left? Does the hardware mount to the bars at the risers? It also seems that the cost varies a bit. Does anyone have best price information? Is there an absolute best scenario windshield for the Rocket, or all opinions?

I agree whit your opinions. I went with a small, bar mounted shield on my BMW R75/5/ It just never did the trick, so I'm trying to cover the due diligence soz I'm not making the same mistake again. I guess it'll be the 16X16. And who knows, maybe a file and hole saw!

I installed my 16X16 WIndvest today. It looks good. OK....now for the performance... The buffeting is killing me! I'll be adjusting like crazy this weekend.

I'm 5'11 and have the triumph roadster screen, I've tried it all the way up, all the way down, and tilted to the extremes I get the dreaded under current that rises up from the bottom of the bike.

I've heard that the front deflectors make a difference, but does the windvest suffer from that as well?

I agree there is not one size fits all. I love the look of the wind vest, but I don't think it would offer enough protection from rain or even worse bugs which we seem to have a overabundance of here. So I'm running my barn door Clear-view which provides great coverage but also unfortunately makes you feel more of the engine heat .

JC, tilt your Windvest as far back toward your helmet as you can to reduce the buffeting.

I didn't get to do any adjusting yet. I'll try to tilt it back as far a possible. I guess one problem for me is that I don't always wear a helmet. It scares me a bit to see the top edge of the windvest in perfect line with my forehead.

The front deflectors make a big difference. I don't detect any undercurrent rising up from the bottom of the bike. Pics can be seen in my personal album.
