Wild Looking Victory

None of the world's problems are going to be resolved here. So lets get back to how ugly or impressive the new victory is.

What I am really wondering is if Triumph is going to make a fully faired cruiser, it might look similar, with a lot of sweeping lines, wonder how that would go over?

Or it could look like these:

Flip; Your right if it wasen't for Polaris (industries)the bike would go under. I almost bought a Victory when they were priced starting at 13000 now their more than harleys.Good old American GREED.Yes they can out run stock hardlys, so can my honda civic. When the american public gets over its love affair with the V twin mabey we will get some advances in motorcycle engines. Why do hardleys sound like they do? Poor engine design. I had a custom with a S&S 107 with a EMC blower.Biggest piece of crap ever. Would walk sideways across the driveway at idle. Arlin Mess my ass.Do u think the rocket has as much profit in it as a Victory.Good old american GREED.Example Ford motors laying off 38000 people because they made 40 bucks an hour to screw wheels on a car.Greedy americans. Sorry to be venting but i spent so much on 3 Hardleys i had and still never got what i wanted.I have less in the rocket than i had in 1 hardleys B.O.S.S.(bolt on shiney ****). Just lessions i've learned over the years. Way of life my ass.Rich urban bikers.Bikers my ass, real bikers can fix their own bikes. Now they have to have there assys.put on by the dealer.Helpless greedy americans.Sorry guys but iam just not very proud of my country right now.God helps those that help themselves. Now wheres my meds...P.S. spelling is overated. Jack

Not sure what is ailing Busajack, but I, for one, don't think my country is going downhill. Maybe it is bacause I have been away from it a lot in the last 4 years or so, but every time I come home I appreciate my wife, my two sons, my home, my cats and when I feel like it getting on my Gold Wing (or the new Triumph Rocket I will have in about two or so months), starting 'er up and riding to where ever I feel like. Going to whatever store I want to buy something at. To go to anyone of several motorcycle shops in Pensacola or Gulf Shores, Ft. Walton Beach, Jacksonville...wherever and have the ability to buy something special or just ordinary for my ride. To associate with some mighty fine people who do and don't ride. To go to whatever restaurant I want and be able to order whatever type of food I want (though I have noticed a shortage of good steak houses that carry a good NY Strip steak), to travel anywhere in this country without worrying about being shot at, hijacked, kidnapped, killed as a normal everyday occurrence.
Some of you guys who are so bitter need to step away from whatever you are doing and smell the roses...so to speak. Get on your Rocket and enjoy your life...there are so many in other countries who don't have the opportunity that we do, and we complain about a lot of little things. Save your grief or rage for something that warrants it but go out and enjoy your life...it's the only one you got.

I'm not too worried about what this guy makes or that company charges because I have my own world to contend with. This after all, is the land of the free and they can charge whatever they can get away with and if we are dumb enough to pay it, then they stay in business another day, if not they change or go belly up. That's how business has always worked and always better work.

Imagine living like we are in one of the most spectacular economies on record and yet being deluged with negativity on every turn of a newspaper page, and every other spoken sentence. Truth doesn't sell papers, nor does positive reporting, so we are left with negativity, rumor, and speculation. This has always been the case but seems to have gotten exasperated since the 24/7 media has come on board. I left out political influence to keep this short but it's a major contributor and also the effect the INTERNET is playing.

Here's how i sum up the two Worldly approaches to our information. The written and spoken Main Stream Media has a Liberal approach but thinks they are balanced. Talk radio has a Conservative approach and tells you in no uncertain terms it has a conservative approach to it's programs. Can you guess which contains the bulk of all negativity against America and it's people?????

Sorry Pig9r, but I posted this before your redirective post.

Personally, I like bike "A". It's blue and that's fine with me. Bike "B" however incorporates many stock R3 parts so in a cost effective perspective, bike "B" is the winner. However, I believe that Triumph isn't thinking at all of building a top line touring bike in the forseeable future. Just my opinion, not based on any fact, just my personal observance.

It's pretty hard to break into the touring bike market with so many established marques out there. I, for one, will be really interested to see how the new Victory Vision fares compared to the GoldWing, The Bimmer or the HD Tour Glide Classic. Only time will tell.

Hondax:

Your post is well taken at least, by me.

frustrated

Flip,Molinoman,Hondax, you guys are absolutely correct and I apologize for my outburst.I just sometimes think 38 years of the military and govt.service with the cold war was a waist of time but we are still here so it must have had some effect.Molinoman you should have been a shrink. You really made me think and feel better.Hondax i'am just gona quit watching the news.Flip i'am gona learn to spell.Tomo,i know this ain't bike related but i needed the help. Thanks again gang. Jack

Jack:

You aren't frustrated. It's mid-winter and everyone is getting a little edgy, that's all. I got a little edgy with Amy a while ago. She gave me a reality check. I have a sore scalp. She got a hold of my hair (I don't have a whole lot left) and asked me if I had a problem to which I replied "no" of course.:)

Remember, we are all little cogs in the machine of life and despite some machinery problems we are all still here enjoying the freedoms and benefits of our society and hopefully will get up tomorrow and everything we all take for granted today will carry on tomorrow and into the future.

No apology needed. Just don't disappear from this site. All your contributions are appreciated. Besides, I like your street rod.:D

Busajack

Jack, sorry I may have been a little hard on you, since you are in Wyoming, this time of year probably is pretty hard on you as you might not be able to just get on the bike and ride. Cheer up, neither can I at the moment, and you have already got something I haven't...a Rocket, mine is still a dream for another month and a half or so.
Good luck.

Triumph answer to the Victory

Speaking, somewhat, from a Gold Wing owner, if Triumph ever came out with a tourer like A or B (probably B...the luggage looks bigger), you would see a lot of Gold Wing riders bolt over to Triumph. There was a big let down this last year when the 2007's came out when the only change was the colors available. Don't get me wrong, the Gold Wing riders love their Wings, but they want a bigger engine and the Rocket certainly qualifies in that respect. They also like their 3 year unlimited mileage warranty. If the Rocket Tourer ever came out with speakers with MP3 or IPod capability (I already run a 40 and a 60 gig IPod on my Wing) and a decent cruise control and the warranty to match with a decent fairing and adjustable suspension (or a good decent set of shocks in the back), possibly a Traxxion front suspension and something that looked like either of the two pics that Pig9r posted, there would be a line a mile long making tracks for the Triumph dealer in their area.

This has been a wild post! I enjoyed reading but decided to stay out. I can get a bit out of control when it comes to politics, the economy and life. But then Pigr3 tried to change the subject: touring Rocket3. I wish Triumph would not try to compete directly with the super sculpted touring models. Seems to me with a hot front ferring filled with the electronics, cruise control and a few other amenities but leaving the rest of the bike as is would be the right approach. I hate those rolling couches, looks boring to me.

At 57, I have no intention, barring illness, to have any more idle time or become a keyboard junkie.

Actually Flip, the first step is to stop denying that you are a keyboard junkie (turbocharged). I would be happy to be your sponser at Keyboard Junkie Anonymous

And by the way Flip, you are already a keyboard junkie (turbocharged). The first of the 12 step program is to stop the denial. I would be happy to be your sponser at the next Keyboard Anonymous chapter meeting.
