When is it too much?

I am thinking about getting some aux driving lights for my 2015 R3T. The ones in question are the Rigid SR-Q2 driving lights. My question is this: Since i have already installed some heated grips, an aux charging station for the cell phone, along with the many lights already provided by Triumph at what point will I be using more power than the charging system can provide? I ask because many years ago I put some very powerful lights on the old 4WD and even with the engine running the alternator could not put up with the draw being used.

Install LED lights in the stock locations first. They provide at least twice the light if not more. I've been enjoying my Chinese lights for over a year now.

I agree with this and add that LED draw much less current than stock.

@DEcosse probably can answer the "too much" question the best.

Yup +1 for the Chinese $NZD15 spots of Aliexpress. Wired straight into the aux driving light connection (which was a right ***** to find).

On a "T" the LED "question of questions" is - DO YOU RIDE AT NIGHT?

If so I would STRONGLY recommend JW Speaker adaptive. Not only are they startlingly good in simple stood still mode - the additional lights that fire up in the bends makes a huge difference. They will draw ALMOST as much a standard Halogen bulb when fully banked over - but I find myAdaptives pretty much negate the need for the Auxiliaries. Does not mean I don't use the LED auxiliaries - but they really are not required all that often (except fog)

If you do not ride much at night - Fit Truck-Lite 7" H/light and auxiliaries into the existing shells.

This will be more than enough.
