No Big John, it is just absolute confusion over how to use the TB and public acknowledgement of my ineptitude.

I didn't disclose the "rest of the story". N1 is going to install this stuff for me, right after we return from several days of a Texas pig hunting and moonshine sipping holiday. Yeah baby. :D

I would agree with what's been said .................... . I think I've got it on the right track because it scares the mechanics at the dealer when they test ride it.

I ALWAYS tell them, "Be careful in First, it isn't stock." (Gotta be fair, Right?)  And then they ALWAYS come back and say, "Holy S--t! It came up so hard in Second I almost fell off!" (So maybe I'm an a**hole!)

The tuneboy is for tinkerers. It is the only way to get into the ignition, since the maps are different in each gear. The combination of the secondary throttles being closed and the ignition softened in first and second is what really emasculates the Rocket. You wake it up with Tune Boy and the bike will have attitude, and street creed like no other cruiser on the planet, Earth! 8)

Having said that, I have tinkered myself into trouble that kept Pegasus' Rocket sidelined for an evening and might never have been fixed if not for Zaphod (on this Forum) who bailed me out! I remain grateful. See the thread: http://www.r3owners.com/viewtopic.php?t ... highlight=

Doc, from what I understand, the GiPro achieves the same thing with the ignition advance in the first three gears and the secondaries. Am I incorrect?

Yeah Turbo . . . first time I took it in for the Oil tank seeping/leak, I told the mechanic that I'd changed a few settings from the factory and to be careful when took off in the first few gears that I'd removed the torque reduction.

He came back and thanked me for warning him . . . I asked him if it was stock . . . he said . . . shaking his head . . . "hell no, that thing tries to snatch the handlebars outta your hands"

Gotta love Tuneboy and improvements. :D :D :D

 yep...knew it would happen ....confused.Whilst i am tempted by the simpler option of the PCIII, The T/Boy still seems tantilisingly better.
Thanks heaps fellas ,for your input on this. 8)
Trouble is , if i go for Tune Boy , i will be probably end up asking a lot of questions and badgering folk on this site for answers :p !!

Gipro gets rid off all the restrictions and its cheaper than a tune boy.Its all up to the individual.Tuneboy wouldnt be any good to me as my tuner uses pc111.

Step, which Gipro did you use. I understand there is a mini. Also, where did you mount the gear indicator display. Please post a pic?

I am ignorant of GIPRO. If you want to use a Tuner that only uses Dynajet and Power Commander, you just need to borrow one and then emulate the tune to put it in Tune Boy. (UNDERSTANDING THAT I HAVE NEVER DONE THIS AND IT MAY BE HARDER THAN I THINK!) After you have your tune in Tune Boy you can make another tune with your tune and the Speedo corrected, or the Rev Limiter nudged up a bit, or the speed limiter set at a more optimistic number like say, 300 mph.

But also consider this (I am sure the Tuners consider this!) With Tune boy you can find someone who has done the tune, and lives at a similar altitude who is willing to e-mail his Tune. Then you just load it. It WILL NOT BE PERFECT. But it will run. I have never quite gotten around to paying for a dyno tune. I am still running one of two tunes "donated" to me by generous members of this site. They charge more to tune your bike with Tune boy because it is more work. They have less incentive to learn the Tune Boy software because it doesn't let them tune on the fly which they can do with the Power Commander. And finally if they did invest all that time and effort in becoming a "Tune Boy" tuner, they would be tuning one bike for each group of guys with similar set ups!

Geesh Martin, that kinda sounds like "Who's on first?" :)

I used the gipro atre it isnt the mini version but i do beleivr they are going to bring one out. There was no finesse to me mounting the gear display as i didnt want it for the display so it is just stuck inside my small screen with velcro which it comes with.IT does emit a nice blue glow at night but you cant really see it.I dont really care what gear im in on a rocket itll pull from any.I just change gear when it hits the limiter :D I did ask gipro about making me one without a display but its cheaper to buy the standard one and just hide the display.
