Thanks heaps fellas ,for your input on this. 8)
Trouble is , if i go for Tune Boy , i will be probably end up asking a lot of questions and badgering folk on this site for answers!!
I think you'll enjoy TuneBoy. It will supply hours of amusement (I really had to chuckle when our professional operator described TB as intuitive...Wayne must not realize that some people are born without intuition).
I am also inept at computer operation. In addition to the Rocket, I've got a Daytona 675, and when I realized that TB would benefit both bikes, why the decision to purchase was easy. But I also had to purchase a laptop.
Wow! The hours of fun I've had! Staring at the blue screen...watching prompts that don't change...waiting days for email tutoring...
Part of the TB package is a cable that connects your ECU to your laptop. This enables you to ruin both pieces at the same time. I'm currently looking for a cable that would connect laptop and BOTH bikes at the same time. That ought to generate some sparks and smoke.
After 25 years of sobriety, I'm drinking again. Heavily. I fell off the wagon when I finished loading a new tune in the Daytona. It started and idled well, but when I put it in gear, it popped a huge wheelie in reverse. When it landed on top of my third new laptop, and everthing started sizzling, I rode the Rocket (in reverse) to the liquor store. I chugged a pint of Wild Irish Rose, and then went to Circuit City to get a new laptop.
I told the nerd clerk, "Jusss give me somethin', y'know, "intuitive".
In fairness, though, I have to admit that Wayne and Emma at TuneBoy are Tops. They're patient. They've never called me names (to my face), and have always gotten me straightened out (eventually). And any number of Intuition Endowed members of this forum will doggedly assist you in your tuning quest.
Both my bikes run great now. Well, the big one still pops a lot, but that's only because it hasn't been a priority when I'm fiddling. I think any real Rocket owner is only half a man until he has his TuneBoy (Apologies to Miz Liz and Lyn-Del...you guys know what I mean...). Imagine the pride you'll feel when you go to gas up, and a couple big Harley goons ask about your Rocket. You'll be able to say, "Yep, 2300 cubic centimeters, and 640 kilo-giggle-bytes".
