What Happens if....

If I were doing a bike again without ultimate top end in mind, I would just use Tors, look around, a set will come up for sale, they always do!

I downloaded the 20050 tune you posted to my tune ecu, then looked at it and the 20226 that's in it. I understand better now, what you were saying & I am going to try this at some point. I just have to get the courage to download it into my ecu, but right now I am not confident enuff in my ability to go through the proper steps without f*****g up. watching some videos & reading info from tune ecu, I know that if it is not done properly (steps to follow after the download - turning ign on/off - 12 minute runoff, ect) I could f it up. I have the tune ecu on Android & it does not seem to be the same as windows.
I sure do regret that I have let so many years go by, not keeping up with all the changes with the electronic/computer aspects of the engines on vehicles/motorcycles, ect & computers in general.
This is turning into a very informative thread !!!!!.......................

Thanks again,
Clint

Well....The more time you spend reading the less time you are riding. We need to apply Occams Razor to alot of our problems and if an AFR+ or a PCV/AT gets you close- its good.

If I were doing a mild bike, I would just use Tors, look around, a set will come up for sale, they always do!

I have more money than time Clav.....and with the Cat delete and shipping on the TORs I'll be at the price point I can buy the last of the D and D's-new or used. I'm a slip on kinda guy and everyone is looking for TORs "so no soup for me".

I may just sell the RAMAIR and AFR that are being shipped...I am putting on TORS to gain back the 27 FT LBS lost by the RAMAIR (or K and N's). If I would have known that pulling the airbox leads to a couple thousand dollar project (due to the 27 ftlb loss) ...I would just leave it bone stock. And I may....

Well, I'm not runnin from horse power. Just that the ultimate goal is not Top end speed - I like the torque @ low to mid range. I just want to make the bike as efficient as it can be, within my ability to do myself, without taking it to a dealership & my ability to afford. This is the first bike I've had in 30 years so I'm just trying to figure things out. I know that it is not going to be as efficient as possible when it is "showroom stock" from the factory. I know the TORS don't turn it into a racing machine, but they sound good.

But anyway, Thank you again dougl, Claviger, xlr8tion for your time & input!
TRIUMPH tuned the Rocket to produce lots of useable low and mid range power so I dont think its worth screwing with it and spending money unless you want to derestrict it and add a free flowing intake and exhaust system I have a stone stock 09 Classic and it runs great as is the lowend and midrange are all you can use it runs out of power up top and thats where the mods will help it develop 165+ HP and 165 TRQ and thats a big improvement and worth the money

Hey I lept on your tire recommendations and I was good.

My Dyno was down and after 4 people told be to rip the Airbox; Clav told me I would lose the torque. This all came up in the "spark plug debacle" when I was lamenting the PITA of changing plugs. Nobody said...HEY that is going to cost you 20 percent of your Torque and 1000-5000 dollars to get it back...

That is why I come here I am a DUMASS looking for help not salt on the wound.

The dealer I cant go back to got a hard on for me when I went with your front tire phil...so it is your fault...LOL...JK

No you're not. You are simply excited with your new toy and suffering from cabin fever. Take your time!

Oh, the woes of winter!

The stock Rockets are tuned for cruising and they do a great job and if you dont want anymore top end power or speed then just drive it and enjoy as there isnt any other bike out there that can do it better . OH and how did the front tire work out ?

Is that a rhetorical question? You know if Phil recommended it-it was good. Better yet it is GREAT!
