What Happens if....

Thanks Bill, I have thought about that actually. I've read other threads that you discussed the AFR+ I will give em a call & see if it would be something I can work with. Seems like a great alternative

Tex mine is incoming at full military discount (the AFR+), If I do not get my act together to rip this bike apart there will be a NIB RAMAIR and NIB AFR+ for sale...

WE NEED MORE TORs and a company that can make a slip on for 500 dollars for us Classic owners.
D and D stopped making the 499 slip on for us that own R3 Base and Classics, I can buy a catback for a Vette for the cost of a Zard or a Remus..THATS NUTS! Someone cannot mfg a single glass pack exhaust to slide onto the stock header?

Raask makes one and two muffler systems for the stock header.

Thanks doug but they are in Sweden; the shipping /VAT would be crushing?

Doug you said in another Triumoh forum in 2007.....

"Omar´s Cafe in Minnetonka, phone no: 952-224-9990 ask for Ed

Why would you want this? I've seen no performance data for these things. I contacted Raask directly but nothing solid on performance"

Has something changed since 2007 as far as info on these pipes...?

The D and D's have been extensively dyno'd and can still be found if one searchs hard sO I am wondering why we are looking at Swedish drag pipes of dubious performace?

Cheers..>Greg

I'm not sure the US is subject to the VAT. I got some bags from Belgium cheap. Still, I bet the Raasks will be expensive. I looked on line at Staintune. If they still sell them, the mufflers alone are $1800 AUS. You could get a full Carpenter or CES exhaust but then you have to deal with retuning.

D&D's are basically the same as TORs if you can find them. Further down on the page you will see the standard Raask mufflers. Raask is reputable. They also make a custom header. I just suggested them as another alternative to TORs, which are scarce.

A really good resource to educate yourself on EFI if you want to learn more is here:

Principles of Tuning Programmable EFI

The principles hold true for all motors, that is simply an opensource engine management computer that has incredible community support, and as a result has some really well written articles on tuning principles.

WOW..... Ok, I just looked at that. It is intimidating but I do plan on taking the time when I get a chance to learn as much as I am capable of from that page.
Great info - I know I won't be able to retain all of this, but I will definitely know more after studying it than I do now.

1) The reason to install the 20050 decel is not so much to reduce decel popping which you have now, but because it is a better tune than the stock tune. If you don't care about the extra power, stay with the 20226. You shouldn't uncheck the O2 box. There's no point if you're not going to retune.

Did you read the tune in your ECU? I know you said it was 20226 but you should read it in TuneECU and make sure it is completely stock, with the secondary restrictions, for example. I don't see what the big deal is with leaving the plenum installed. If you need to work on the engine, it's easy to take it out.

I downloaded the 20050 tune you posted to my tune ecu, then looked at it and the 20226 that's in it. I understand better now, what you were saying & I am going to try this at some point. I just have to get the courage to download it into my ecu, but right now I am not confident enuff in my ability to go through the proper steps without f*****g up. watching some videos & reading info from tune ecu, I know that if it is not done properly (steps to follow after the download - turning ign on/off - 12 minute runoff, ect) I could f it up. I have the tune ecu on Android & it does not seem to be the same as windows.
I sure do regret that I have let so many years go by, not keeping up with all the changes with the electronic/computer aspects of the engines on vehicles/motorcycles, ect & computers in general.
This is turning into a very informative thread !!!!!.......................

Thanks again,
Clint

Does the Android have a cable that connects to the ECU? if you can get it to connect, the rest is a snap. You do have to cycle the ignition off and on after a download, then hit reset adaptations. You can then disconnect TuneECU and turn the bike on and do the 12 minute tune. I never did that step on my 2005.

Except you do not need the cat delete with the D and D's. D and D is reputable too. Since I stopped selling kilos of blow I do not intend to spend 1200 USD on a set of slip ons...That is insanely overpriced IMO.....Some of these Zards are 4K....Whiskey Tango Foxtrot...

All this ensued when someone said..Tear out that Airbox and failed to mentioned (by Clavs dyno info) that I would lose 27lbs of Torque with a RAMAIR on a stock exhaust. So I went down the rabbit hole and bought the RAMAIR and the DP AFR+. Either I find the pipes of this bike is staying bone stock as it is so G-Dang fast it is burning cash to gain(or lose) butt dyno numbers.

Thanks for the info tho doug....The Raasks do look high quality but I need to find something here in the SE US preferably.
