I've spent some time looking but there's just way too many post so I figured I'd ask.
Does anyone know which years and tunes work together? I guess I'm trying to find out if there any tunes that do and do not work for specific years.
I have a 15 Roadster.

ADMIN EDIT:

Thanks to @HansO

R3's pre Roadster = 20228 (that includes all Std's, Classics till 2009) what like to call 1st generation
Roadsters 2010 till 2012 = 20355 what I like to call 2nd generation
Roadster 2013 till Present 2017 =
  • 20773 for the stock standard options, and
  • 20776 for the TOR exhaust option.
what I like to call 3rd generation

Tourings from 2008 till present day = 20368

So most of the folks looking for revised ECU maps are Touring owners with the detuned engines, looking to put the engine back to where the Rocket is.

Much less to gain from blind maps for a stock Roadster.

If you go changing the intake and exhaust then you might be looking for something to take advantage of those changes.

Oh I understand that. I have read about what you mention with the Touring models.
I have changed both intake and exhaust and have a couple tunes. I just thought in my readings about tunes and ecu's that there were some issues between model years. Just checking.
Thank you for the reply.

+1 for the comment from Joesmoe.

Without minimally a new exhaust, the most you could hope to gain is removal of some of the restricting that occurs in gears 1&2 , raising the redline and removal of the 120MPH limiter. Frankly, I wouldn't bother.

If you have some mods, I would suggest posting on the "Trading Tunes" forum with the specific mods and model/year of your bike. Even though Hans0 (the resident master Tunekeeper) is out of commission for a while, there are likely others here that can direct you to a suitable tune with the details you provide.

You are asking the right questions since, as you probably already know, the ECU has changed over the years, so you MUST confirm that the tune you are about to use is the correct one for your year/model.

Ok thanks guys.
And I have already been in contact with HansO. But he is on the mend currently.
All good all good for now.

You have a good question IMHO!
Perhaps the other posters missed the point . . . I think.
There are differences in Rocket ECUs over the years.
Where are these changes and what type tunes work with each?
Or more importantly, which tune DO NOT work with which Rocket years?

Yes, you may have communicated it better than I did. But what you wrote is what I was asking.

R3's pre Roadster = 20228 (TORS) and 20227 (that includes all Std's, Classics till 2009) what like to call 1st generation All the lower numbered tunes were superseded by these
Roadsters 2010 till 2012 = 20355 (TORS) and 20352 what I like to call 2nd generation
Roadster 2013 till Present 2017 = 20773 and 20776 (TORS) what I like to call 3rd generation

Tourings from 2008 till present day = 20368

I prefer to use the TORS version as they are a better starting point
