Triumph tank bib for my tourer

Wait, you mean a leather tank bib that goes on top of it to dress it up?

I don't see any reason to lift the tank for that. Of course I haven't seen how the Triumph bib is done, but the one I got from Mustang is held down by the screws that hold down the instrument panel, and there's an elastic strap that goes around the tank hinge to hold the rear part down.
The triumph model has velcro pads under the front of the tank that the bib reaches down and under and secures to. Not sure it's the best design but it does look good when finished. Those pads, and the tie at the back of the tank, are what holds it in place. the nacelle only provides a little bit of friction to keep it there.

Ahh, interesting. The Mustang bibs are bolted down under the chrome instrument panel and the front flaps aren't secured at all, and don't really need to be.

But yeah, lifting the tank on an R3T is simple. Remove the seat, remove the three screws and gently lift the instrument panel so you can reach under there to detach the cable connector, lay it aside and then remove the two screws by the keyswitch holding the tank down. Then lift it and prop it. 3 minute job.

Not a problem.
If you go to user idk he has a link to the service manual in his signature line. You can find it under the info tab at the link. It is for older bikes but for the most part works just fine for the newer ones.
