OK, I understand.



If the Plano dealer your looking at is European Cycle Sports on Avenue K, they're my regular shop where I purchased my 2009 standard and they do all the work I either don't have time to do, or can't do myself. They got a new Service Manager about a year ago who's good and I've never had a problem with them. They have an R3 Tourer trike on the floor at the moment so I assume (!) they're familiar with them.

The trike kit is no problem. The electrical problems are the same ones indigenous to Triumph. I have three models. All three have and continue toexperience the usual issues. Of late,experiencing one cylinder running flat dead until it warms up.

OMG - I HATE issues that just make no darn sense!
When a dealer can't fix it, I'd lose interest pretty fast myself.
No issues with my 2012 R3R so far (35K miles).
Hope this good fortune continues.

My o6 standard had some gremlins, sometimes i turn the key the right 1/2 of the bike lights up, sometimes the other side, sometimes nada! my first solution was EB and when the quirks returned several months later the same old fix still worked swing bars to the stops both ways and voila everything works. No i'm not suggesting that would fix your problems just agreeing that triumph still has their share of electrical issues.

Have you considered a V8 trike? they start at about 40000 new.

Just buy a Corvette convertible used for the same price why does it need to be a 3 wheeler ? All those 3 wheelers are a pain in the ass with no weather protection The sling shot is a 3 wheeled sports car but without any weather protection or creature comforts I would buy a nice used sports car instead of that bare bones buckboard and I wouldn't want my wife riding any of the trikes they are not safe as I had some scary rides on various trikes over the years

WELL I have an 09 Classic and 12 roadster and have never had a problem But you know the older bikes did have problems SO I wouldn't buy anything older than an 09

Been there w my 06 STD. It is definitely the ignition switch. Learned the lesson well.

On the positive side, I got my bike cheap because the previous owner had issues getting the bike to start. Turned out to be 2 problems, both easily fixed. Poor battery connections and a bit of dirt on the neutral switch (under the little cover near the shaft output). Never had any electrical problems since.
